I worked with Bryce and had a fantastic experience. I bought a new bike there and he informed me when parts were not available or we're going to be more expensive than previously thought. He was also able to credit me for parts I no longer wanted. Overall a good bike purchasing experience.

Out of the three times I had a flat fixed here, I had two very bad experiences: The first time the tube was put in wrong, and ended up blowing out, taking the tire with it. The second time the rear brakes where not tightened at all and the rear wheel was not fastened enough and ended up at an angle. I'm sure the bikes they sell are excellent, but the service is pretty abysmal.

I can't say enough good things about these guys. First of all, I'm a downhill mountain-biker who stumbled into these guys shop when I first moved to Portland needing my Santa Cruz Bullit worked on. They've pretty much (them and Universal Cycles a little, also an awesome shop) maintained the bike for me over the last two years of hard DH riding (Whistler, Blackrock, Bend, Sandy, etc). The other day I took my bike in because a Sram X-9 shifter I had bought from them a month earlier was broken internally. Within 45 seconds of being in the store, one of the mechanics had the shifter off the bike and was starting to fix it (some spring had broke), because I told him I was really hoping to ride that day. They didn't even charge me. I thought that was an awesome gesture of good faith; most shops would have made me deal with Sram. Not River City. They straight up warrantied another company's part!

Awesome store, so many different brands and components to choose from, and tons of bikes. Staff was super nice, chill and helpful, and they knew their stuff when it came to cycles. There's a nice test track upstairs also, and bunch of classic bikes displayed throughout the store. Don't hesitate to check this place out if you get the chance, you won't regret it!

The sales specialist at River City who I dealt with (Matt) was incredibly professional, helpful and patient. He was very knowledgeable in helping me make a great decision on a bike and was not pushing a sale at all but seemed genuinely interested in facilitating a pleasant experience at the store. I'm a passionate mountain biker but not a bike guru and no one there was condescending. Customer Service was excellent, selection is excellent. My only recommendation is to CHECK PRICES ONLINE before you buy here as many of the accessories I bought for my new bike were initially overpriced. However, River City was very good about price matching. Examples: Crank Brothers Candy 3 pedals I found online for $85 on sale at performance bicycles(with a very quick search) and at River City they were listed at $125 but agreed to drop the price to $95 (could not do less than that). Every other accessory I bought they were willing to price match the lowest price I could find online. So bring your smart phone to the store and make sure you aren't overpaying.

I had an awesome experience at River City Bikes as a person trying to buy a bike with no idea of how to find the right one for me. Buying a bike is hard when you don't even know what questions to ask. Clinton gave me his undivided attention and helped me by watching me test ride a few different bikes and making suggestions and alterations to dial in the right fit. This sounds simple but it's actually a long and tedious process. He was also great about listening to concerns I had and answering all of my questions in a language I could understand. I had test ridden bikes all over town, basically looking for the help and customer service that I got from Clinton at River City Bikes. I highly recommend this place.

Rivercity is the best bike shop i've ever dealt with and I've been riding mountain and road for more than 30 years. Honest, extremely knowledgeable, very approachable. I've bought 4 bikes from RCB. The prices are good and they get better the longer you do business with them. Excellent shop. I can't tell you how many times they've fixed things that others couldn't or how many times they've done a repair gratis. And most importantly they are just great people who've become friends over the years. Best bike shop in PDX and that's saying something in a town with Great bike shops.

Hands down the best bike shop in Portland. Friendly, highly informed, and helpful staff that will go above and beyond your expectations. I've never gotten even a hint of attitude from any of the people I've dealt with here. Big selection of high quality lines as well. And in bike-centric Portland, this is no secret, as this place is always humming with activity.
