In the full-time (or even part-time) homemaking world, there is a trend of Pinterest-high standards and a general lack of self forgiveness. Welcome to Crooked Housewife. Makeup, showers, and vacuuming are optional; sincerity is not. I’m striving for greatness with delicious recipes, home projects, and other domestic goodies, but it’s ok if my kitchen doesn’t make it to Better Homes and Gardens. This is a place where shabby meets chic and comfort meets style.
So who am I? I’m a young wife and mother who has moved to Alabama from Northern California and South Carolina before that. I’m extroverted to a fault and I love to laugh. I went to school for writing and publication studies and have done everything from radio broadcasting to managing a dessert shop. I attract awkward (awkward moments, awkward people, awkward gestures) like a magnet and consequently have a never-ending supply of embarrassing stories. My husband, Mr. P, is a mad scientist/doctor and athlete, and my daughters, Little Girl and Nugget, are the apples of my eye. Like I said, I am far from perfect, but because of the grace I experience through Jesus Christ, I find fulfillment and purpose even in light of my own villainous self.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17
