A long, though superb article on our continuing fury.

“It’s done now, time to move on.”

Well, I’m afraid I can’t do that, and one reason is that I am really angry about the lack of effort that voters have put into this decision. It makes me furious to hear people saying “We were lied to”. Of course you were lied to, that’s what politicians do. You have the whole internet at your disposal to find things out if you want to, and if you’re making a momentous decision like this you SHOULD be finding out more about the implications of your vote. If you didn’t want to put in the hours yourself, there were many experts ready to give you their analysis of the result of leaving Europe. And if you can’t be bothered to find out the implications of your actions don’t take part in the decision!

Why would you go to a flower show – for the the gardens, or for the plants? It's true that some people go for the experience – event and retail marketing seems to be all about 'experiences' and 'destinations' now – but while these are animals I can identify in a crowd, quaffing their fizz* and ...

Frankly I'm fucking terrified.

I know my timeline sways both ways, I call nobody here on my stream a bigot, would I have added you as a friend if I thought that way?

Whichever way tomorrow goes and whatever the economic outcomes over any timescale. This referendum has legitimised bigotry.
From its early days as a pacifier to the conservative right to keep them loyal to the party it has constantly rewarded the propagation of hate leading to greater and greater social acceptance of racism.
An exit vote tomorrow will be hates greatest reward.

Oh, I don't speak for the laws protecting minorities, though I'd be somewhat surprised if they weren't watered down a touch, I speak for societies normalisation of injustice. Moving from a harking back to a true regression, back to the good old days when you could call a fag a fag, before political correctness (otherwise known as treating people with respect) went mad.

The right and far right haven't hijacked this process, it was theirs to begin with.

My vote should be no surprise to any of you. I don't vote with any campaign and have no party allegiances but take in all the information I can and reach my own decision.
I won't judge anybody for opposing my vote but if you find yourself with racists, homophobics and hate speakers as allies I ask that you continue to fight from your corner, as will I from mine.

Whether in or out, I don't want to be a citizen of a country of intolerance.

Very tense. I fear there may be violence. Certainly there are friendships that are over, families that aren't speaking, one death.

38 years or as long as I remember, fighting and hiding with depression.
I'm only now coming to terms with myself, that I can stand and speak about this, there is no stigma.
Social media has helped greatly, Mind's excellent Elefriends network; the wonders that are TWLOHA, Stay Here With Me and Depression Army.

So let me link you to this great dark thing of beauty <3 CoMa is awesome anyhows but there is a monster in my head.
