Since retiring from professional road racing at the end of 2005, Alex
Gobert has made a successful transition into the media as a freelance
journalist, predominately for Australian Motorcycle News and Australian
Auto Action, among many other international magazines and websites.
During this time, Gobert has tested and reviewed over 200 bikes (road and off-road) from every leading manufacturer, and has also featured as AMCN’s contributing sport editor and Australian Superbike Championship reporter since 2006.
In-depth interviews with riders and industry insiders are just some of
Gobert’s specialties, with over 60 published interviews completed since
becoming a journalist and learning the trade from respected Australian
journalists including Mick Matheson, Matt Shields and Ken Wootton.
Gobert is the current motorcycle editor for leading motorsport magazine
Australian Auto Action, featuring weekly news that is sourced from
worldwide contacts, plus MotoGP and World Superbike race reports for
each and every round of both series.
