Today, back in 2009, our WorldView-2 satellite was launched from Vandenberg AFB. It was the first high-resolution 8-band multispectral commercial satellite and is capable of collecting up to 1 million sq. km. of imagery a day.

This weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix is held at the Suzuka International Racing Course. The first GP was held here in 1987. Drivers like Suzuka’s snaking 'S" curves and white-knuckled 130R section. Good luck drivers!

The Indonesian earthquake caused "liquefaction" in areas near Palu. These before and after images were taken on August 17th and October 1st, just south of the Mutiara SIS Al-Jufrie Airport.

The earthquake and subsequent tsunami that hit Indonesia has devastated Sulawesi island, and the city of Palu. Seen here is the Teluk Palu Bridge. The before image is from August 17th and the after image is from, today, October 1st.
