Bibby Hydromap nominated for Innovation Award

Mersey Maritime has announced that Bibby HydroMap are among the finalists for an Innovation Award at the 2016 MMIAs

Bibby HydroMap's entry was centered on the launch of their survey ROV d'ROP in 2015, an innovative design that is set to alter the competitive landscape of shallow water remote survey and inspection. Short for 'dynamic remotely operated platform', the flexibility of the d'ROP allows it to effectively meet the needs of many industry sectors, including offshore renewables, oil and gas, subsea power and telecomms cables.

Based in Wirral, UK, Bibby HydroMap works closely with many local offshore renewables and oil and gas operators, in addition to supporting projects throughout the rest of the UK and Northern Europe.

For one Wirral Chamber of Commerce member his continued work and dedication in supporting disabled people was recently recognised by Merseyside Police.

Since 2007 Peter Lyne, Founder of MASIS (Mobility and Support Information Service) and National Vice-President of the Disabled Motorists Federation has been actively involved as a ‘lay’ adviser to the Crown Prosecution Service’s regional office for Merseyside and Cheshire. Through both these charities he has strived towards addressing the needs of developing equal societies and opportunities for disabled people and individuals with long-term health conditions.

His commitment to supporting and promoting the self-esteem and wellbeing of disabled people was recently acknowledged when he was contacted by Merseyside Police who have now appointed Peter as their Independent Adviser for Disability for the entire region of Greater Merseyside.

The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) Quarterly Economic Survey – Britain’s largest and most authoritative private sector business survey, based on almost 7,500 responses from firms – shows that most key manufacturing and services balances were weaker this quarter, but manufacturing firms fared far worse. This has led Britain’s two-tier growth trend to become further entrenched.
