Impeccable beer selection, draft and bottles. Some staff is a bit awkward, but still knowledgeable and friendly. Good atmosphere.

We enjoy the food and decor. I'm hard-pressed to find a better Belgian beer selection anywhere. My wife comes for the mussels.

Service has been awful the past 3 to 4 times I've been here. The food and beer are great but the employees need to get their act together. I'm a paying customer, not someone who deserves a bunch of attitude, or worse, to be straight ignored. Hope they fix this problem, but I'm done going here.

Belgian is one of my favorite spots in Fairmount. Along with their relationship with Monk's Cafe comes phenomenal food and a large beer book in which it is easy to get lost. Their selection of on-tap beers is always rotating through with some some otherwise "off the beaten path" brews, both domestic and foreign. Their muscles are some of the best in Philadelphia and a pot of their Django mussels (my go-to) can definitely act as a meal. Any of their burgers done medium-rare are cooked to perfection and taste delicious. An order of their amazing frites is necessary with every meal, hands down.

About 1/2 of the tap list was Belgian beer. The other beers ranged from a Danish abbey-style to an American watermelon wheat. We glanced at the bottle list, but didn't order anything from it since the taps suited us fine. We noshed on some fries while waiting for a friend to arrive for dinner. The fries are served with a bourbon mayo and optional smoked ketchup. I loved both dips. My guess is that they use Rauchbier to make the ketchup. So, it certainly isn't for everyone. I ordered the Delvaux burger (topped with beer brined cheese & radish sprouts) and my husband had the stout & coffee shredded brisket sandwich. Although my burger was pretty good, he definitely had the superior sandwich. I really loved the cinnamon caramel sauce for the homemade doughnuts.

I took the waitress' recommendation and had the Mussels Herge with "jalapeno pepper butter, cilantro, orange zest, and belgian wit ale". They were horrible! The mussels had no flavor, like they had been cooked separately from the broth. While the broth had some flavor, it looked like dirty dishwater, dull gray. There was no orange zest, only a single orange seed, no cilantro and definitely no jalapeno butter. The fries were okay, but were served to me lukewarm so they were cold by the end of my meal. The waitress was courteous and apologetic and offered me a new dish, but I did not have much time, so I declined. The beer list is certainly extensive and there are creative vegetarian and vegan options, but this is certainly not the place to come to for belgian food.
