This week reminds us of the importance of taking our children out side and showing the wonders that nature has to offer.  Where will you go?

This was me in my competitive days. I'm not as in shape as I used to be. I'm going to need to work out to get into my lederhosen for the fest.

We go every year and Bok Tower Gardens is usually a 5 star experience. This year, however, there is a significant remodel and renovation taking place that covers about 50% of the gardens. There was construction equipment everywhere and almost half the gardens were closed. It was a major bummer since I first found out after I paid and was given a map showing half the park closed. I feel a sign before you pay would have been appropriate. I will go back next year hopefully the construction will be completed.

I haven't been in years. But what an awesome place to get in tune with nature. Gotta get back. We still have an Australian fern tree we bought there. A constant reminder of good times.

We visited this little oasis for the 2nd time last week while we were holidaying in Florida. It was just an easy 40 minute drive from our villa and we found the signage very easy to follow. The gardens are lovely to walk around and the tour of the house is well worth taking. Imagine having that much money to build a house that was only used 7 or 8 weeks a year! The facilities are kept immaculately and it's also well worth sitting down by the bell tower itself to listen to the chimes. What really makes this though is the staff. Without exception they were superb and you really do get the impression that they care about the estate and what they do do show it off to visitors. Like someones else says, it's not your usual Orlando attraction but that only makes it more important that the place is preserved and that the current standards are maintained.

Sooo beautiful. It is so peaceful to walk around and take in the oh so lovely scenery. I wish I was here when the flowers were in bloom. It was still worth the trip tho. We also got to hear the man play the carillon. It was also amazing to hear about the history. Look around or eat first, either way, the food and drinks are soo delicious.
