RIP, Trail Runner Ray Morris 1925-2015
It was a strange message, and I did at least one double-take when it popped up on my phone. Then I did another. Is this real?  [Mom]: ...your great uncle, Ray, whom you haven't seen in 35 years, is dying of pancreatic cancer. He's a runner too, and has been...

The Naked-tastic 2015 Bay to Breakers
Last Sunday, I had the pleasure of joining 30,000+ runners for the annual bacchanal known as the Bay to Breakers 12k in San Francisco, CA. This crazy parade of costumes, nakedness, and drunken debauchery is also a world-class elite event, and I look forward...

Last Sunday, I had the great pleasure of joining 4,500+ runners for the 30th annual Big Sur Marathon in Carmel, CA. This was my 6th time running this beautiful race down Highway 1, and the 6th time completing the Boston 2 Big Sur Challenge . It was a windy ...

I've Stolen the Injinji Instagram Account!!!
The gang at Team Injinji has, perhaps foolishly, let me take over their Instagram account  for the Boston Marathon weekend. They call it a #toetakeover. Follow along, or come find me if you are here! 😇

Scenes From the BayTrailrunner Whiskey Hill Redwood Half Marathon
About 90 runners braved an early morning rain in Huddart Park to run the BayTrailrunners Whiskey Hill Redwood Run Half Marathon/10k , and I got a few pics. You are all welcome to them! (New teepee on the Chinquapin Trail) (The amazing Allen Lucas! Love this...

I Can't Live Without The Back Burner
The look on my face said everything - something about this new cooktop was wrong. Maybe not wrong, but, I don't know, weird. A kitchen appliance that was fundamentally flawed at some cosmic level one can just sense.  Sure, the Thermador 36-inch Masterpiece ...

Running the 2015 Comrades Marathon - An Experience Like No Other
Yesterday, I had the great pleasure of joining 22,300+ runners for the 90th annual Comrades Marathon in Durban, South Africa, known as the oldest and largest ultramarathon in the world. This was a "bucket list" race for sure, if anything just to see what it...

The 2015 Boston Marathon - A Return to Glory
The 2015 Boston Marathon was a return to glory in many ways, and a welcome one at that. For the first time in two years, the chatter among the chilly 30,000+ runners in the starting area tents returned to the familiar topics of weather strategies, expected ...

Yesterday, I joined 4,000+ runners at Crissy Field in San Francisco, CA, to soak in the sun and enjoy the challenging course of the Presidio 10-Mile road race.  This was my fourth running of this hilly and fast route around the Presidio and Golden Gate Brid...

Hit By A Deer....REVENGE!
A couple weeks back, I hit a deer while driving my car home late at night. Messed up my car, but not nearly as much as it messed up the deer. I felt terrible. Day before yesterday, the neighborhood deer pack got me back. I was cruising along the single trac...

Story
Tagline
Trail runner, tech exec, entrepreneur.
Introduction
I'm a technology entrepreneur who took up trail running and triathloning back in 2001 to get off the work treadmill and see a bit more of the outdoors. I also love to eat, so the exercise helps me justify those extra helpings. ;oP I'm always interested in learning more about trail running - please comment and link away!
