Part of Yves Camdeborde's Saint Germain empire along with restaurant Le Comptoir and Hotel Le Relais (all in the same building) this small shop serves small plates of delicious basque cuisine. Always packed

One of the best tapas bars I've been to. The food are top notch and innovative with the use of different ingredients. But the tapas bar is always packed and very hard to find standing room. I had to wait for almost an hour and stand at the bar elbow to elbow to eat for another hour. If you are able to wait and stand than the whole food experience is worth it.

It isn't often that the French culinary scene gets disrupted from it's deeply embedded traditions and habits but this place has just done that with a fresh take on tapas-style eating in some very cramped settings. We arrived early in order to make sure that we'd score a highly coveted spot at this place. We arrived much too early and actually had to wait a good 30 minutes in order to get in. But it was all worth it as we were the first ones in. The man responsible for this place was quite the character. He was busy yelling at his staff, appeared to be extremely busy, almost in the weeds and showed no sympathy to us either. He was nice enough to take our order but didn't break a smile, a thank you and didn't seem to care either. But we put up with it, knowing very well that it could be the price to pay for what could be a fantastic meal. And it was. We ordered away and started with a nice bottle of red wine and then proceeded to get all kinds of stuff. It is a tapas-style menu and we got potato croquettes, some cold cuts, some cheeses, some artichokes that were steamed and served up with a delicious dipping sauce. We actually ordered too much food and were blissfully eating away. Everything was delicious and we unfortunately had no room for dessert. I blame the bottomless baguette refills. What is unique about this place is that it's extremely cramped. There's probably room for ten people at most. And during the lunch service you'll be bumping elbows with people who are there for takeout as well since they also have fresh sandwiches and various other lunch items available to the public. We were lucky enough to get there early to secure a spot in the back and were cornered by two walls. It has a communal feel to it though and people do share bread and butter together which is fun. However there's no seats here, only a counter and it's all standing only. So if you've been walking all day or plan to, be warned, your legs might take a beating. The menu itself features a lot of tapas staples and all kinds of things charcuterie related, especially pork-related items. They have sliced-to-order cold cuts like proscuitto, salami, Iberico ham, etc.. .and also more unique items like tuna tataki, pig trotters croquettes, sauteed mushrooms, cod brandade and even foie gras. It's a very eclectic menu but it works and every item I had was terrific. All in all this place is great and despite the underwhelming, rude service, the food was great and the prices make it an incredible value.

Great aperitivo stop and yummy replacement from its busy big brother next-door (Le Comptoir Saint Germain). Snack foie gras, mushrooms risotto and finest serrano "au comptoir" and bless the Lord to be in Paris.

Delicious foie gras salad, chic but without pretension....locals and tourists alike. great to sit outside even when chilly--heat lamps are enough warmth.

I randomly stumbled over this creperie and ordered a creme du maroon crepe from the takeaway window. While waiting, the people in front of us got the most amazing looking savory crepes ever!! Mine was super delicious as well! Inside people seemed to have food and wine while standing but still looked so fab! Will definitely visit this place again when in Paris!
