I know Whole Foods gets a bad wrap for being over priced and even being dubbed, "Whole Paycheck"... but I love this place. This is the only place I buy my fish and meat. Plus, the nicest people work here. They helped me plan a healthy, organic dinner that was AMAZING. I've also ordered a Thanksgiving Diner from there and I've taken a few classes there. I'll pay whatever for good service and good, fresh food.

Variety, quality is awesome, however, the deli where you choose your bread is poorly designed and should be closely monitored. There is no glass shielding the bread from the customer. While I'm waiting to be served, I have to stand there and fuss with the customers to stop handling the bread with there bare hands. They were moving several loafs of bread before finding a loaf to their liking. This is disturbing to me knowing that about 85% of all infections and viruses are spread due to people not washing their hands. These are shoppers coming in from the street carrying who knows what type of germs and bacteria. I love WF culture and organics but the deli's structure needs to be redesigned.

My experience with the Whole Foods meat department at P Street has been completely exasperating in an attempt to special order a product that they do not normally carry. I started my inquiry 4 weeks in advance of the time it was needed, to determine if they could accommodate me, and was run around for 4 weeks by the meat manager, the store manager, another meat manager and a meat department employee to no avail. I left my contact information several times, was promised follow ups that never occurred, and even had the meat manager disappear when he saw me approach his department. All I needed was a yes or no answer as to whether they could place an order for me and what the cost would be. I was ably assisted by Union Meats at Eastern Market where I will purchase my meats in the future. Too bad Whole Foods that you have outgrown the necessity for courteous, professional behavior toward your customers. I have been a regular customer since the opening of your store and even participated in the lobby to bring you to the neighborhood. I am greatly disappointed by this incident as well as previous ones that I overlooked, to remain silent or faithful in the future.

Better than the Whole Foods in Foggy Bottom but it still gets pretty crazy in here on weeknights. Prices are as expensive as any WF. When I first moved to DC I had to shop here, but since the Giant opened on 7th and Trader Joes on 14th there are many more affordable, and enjoyable, places for me to grocery shop. I haven't gone back here since. I used to really enjoy their Wine Down Wednesdays (wine and food sample pairings) but they have recently stopped doing these.

You know what you get with whole foods. If you know that going in, this one will surprise you with its wine options and reasonable organic prices. I really like that I can recycle almost anything at this particular location. Even plastic #5 containers and plastic bags. However, parking can be a pain during peak hours.

This place is big and the people are friendly. However, it is poorly organized and they don't turn over their product as quickly as other wholefoods. Sometimes things aren't frozen as they should be and sometimes their meat and poultry can taste weird or smell weird.
