All good things come to an end. Rumble Fish was one of the few remaining decent sushi restaurants in Scotts Valley, but the quality has really deteriorated in the last year. Today for lunch I ordered a bento box with salmon katsu and vegetable tempura. The plastic container of sauce that came with the tempura apparently is not designed for heat, it melted into the sauce as well as onto the tempura. I ended up throwing the whole thing away. The salmon was dry and brown, easily the worst quality food I've ever seen from Rumble Fish. I'm really not sure why quality has gone downhill so quickly, maybe they changed owners or chefs? While I was waiting for my food, the overwhelming smell of mustiness was nauseating, I almost canceled my order because the restaurant smelt like an old towel. I feel bad for the employees because they are so friendly, although with the poor quality of the food and the alarmingly unhealthy smell of the restaurant, I will never go here again.

My wife and I eat here once a week ; we love the friendly people, including the wonderful new owner, Luna , and her Chef husband...( new menu in the past four months )...! The serving staff are friendly, courteous, and helpful ~ never a bad attitude... The fish is always above average , and they have a great selection of rolls... Out of the three SV sushi spots, we think this is the best one ; better quality than the one up the road, and better service than the one down the road...!

Awesome! Scotts Valley Roll is super good!! Toro is fabulous! Staff is awesomely friendly. If you're a snob go somewhere else, more for me and my friends and family.

Some of the best sushi I've had. Also, I've been going here for years. I can still walk in there after not having shown my face in a year+ and still get welcomed in like family.

I really enjoyed the steak but it was all made of hair and that is kinda gross. I ordered some sushi and when i picked it up it started to talk to me and told me to kill my family but i didn't listen cause he was made of hair. And that is kinda gross. Don't you think?

My friend and I had a delightful lunch at Rumble Fish . Our Bento boxes were filled with satisfying fresh ingredients which were cooked to perfection. The Staff was positive and served us quickly in a clean, friendly environment. This is the best Sushi restaurant we've visited in Scotts Valley. It was our first visit and we look forward to this experience again in the future.

Without doubt the best sushi in Scotts Valley, and one of the best sushi restaurants in Santa Cruz County!

Poor imitation of Japanese food. Miso was off, tempura was off, nigiri had tasteless fish, poorly mixed and overcooked rice. Even the tofu and wakame were wrong. Basis of opinion: I live in Japan.
