Good food, pricy. I had the tamale and my wife had the taco salad. The tamale was huge and filled with succulent pork and the taco salad was very tasty. The lack of a kids menu didn't stop them the chef put together chicken strips and fries that should be on the menu they were so good. Friendly staff and great service.

Friendly staff and good service. Food is better than decent, and the drinks are good. Good place to stop on a bike ride to or from City Park.

They have 6 vegan options: gazpacho, guacamole, bean dip, salad, portable tacos & vegetable quesadilla. As with most Mexican restaurants, there's nachos and other foods for vegetarians. As far as the quality of the ingredients, this place is better than Juan's but nowhere close to the Velvet Cactus. I'm willing to bet nothing here is organic, as most places that offer organic like to flaunt it in your face. Hopefully, they don't shop at Restaurant Depot. SANTE FE: I will give you a better rating (and visit you more) when you carry more vegan options. I know you have it in you- all you need to do is offer a vegan burrito like Juan's does. We'll also pay more for organic.

Carlos & Lale, the owners, are almost always on premises and their attention to detail shows. The food is almost always perfect and if not they are quick to fix the problem. The person complaining about the service on Jazz Fest weekend should be realistic. I live in the neighborhood and see the hordes every year. You cant provide optimum service while you're inundated.

We has come to the area intending to try the Paella and Sangria at a restaurant across the street but got disgusted with their attitude and lack of hospitality and walked across Santa Fe for one of the most enjoyable evenings. Our server was patient, friendly and efficient. Paella was very good (we even scraped and ate most of the socarrat at the end!) and so was the sangria. They didn't have a kids' menu but brought them smaller plates with children-friendly food that they loved! To end the meal we ordered flan and chocolate cake. The cake wasn't my favorite but the flan was delicious - a tad sweeter than I'm used to but one of the best in town. Their outdoor seating is gorgeous - we didn't realize that they had heaters outside else we would have chosen to sit out. The only negative is that the restaurant is a bit pricey but the experience was worth it. We will definitely come back!

I had lunch today at Santa Fe and was really blown away! The staff was friendly and gave us great service. Everyone who loves Mexican food will tell you, not just any ol' salsa will do, but their salsa is EXCELLENT. Someone else in my party had a house margarita that I tried a sip of. It was stiff with plenty of fresh lime juice, just the way I like it. Mexican is my favorite food, but I was especially impressed with the oyster tacos. And I hadn't even had more than two sips of alcohol! Imagine that! There were two house sauces that came with it that were very unique and I'll be remembering for a long time. I live on the Northshore these days, but I will make time to stop in at Santa Fe soon! Perhaps I'll just stop in for a drink at the bar after work before my commute, but how will I resist staying to eat?

This is in a Mexican-style building, with a rather spartan interior design. The prices are elevated above what one finds in a typical Mexican restaurant, but it is supposed to be more of a gourmet establishment. I ordered the Chili Relleno, which was a large, breaded, fried pepper, with bountiful beef, sour cream, guacamole, fresh diced tomatoes & onions, and sliced jalapeno peppers. The pepper was sweet, and the jalapenos gave this a real hot kick. It was very good, but I'm not sure it was worth the $12.00. The entree came with neither beans nor rice, and the appetizer of chips and salsa was only average. It's your call with this one. RJT

We started with the queso and chipotle honey hot wings. The wings were a hit and while the queso tasted like Velveeta but was still enjoyable. For my entree I had the mixed fajita enchiladas. Also delicious. The meal was rounded off with a fresh margarita on the rocks. This was no mix. The outdoor seating is dog friendly.
