Last week SpanglishBaby received a very special invitation to witness live from Disneyland as all five Disney Resorts worldwide joined in a sing-a-long of "it's a small world" with cast members and special guests singing to the familiar tune in different languages.

¡Fue bellísimo!

Plus, we were also able to capture a very special moment on video when Mickey Mouse led a group in singing the song en español!

"Muy pequeño el mundo es.
Muy pequeño el mundo es.
Debe haber más hermandad.
Muy pequeño es."

¡Miren qué linda!

Disney Store just added this beautiful doll from México that sings in both English and Spanish with a native Mexican voice to their collection of dolls inspired by the original Fantasyland attraction and Disney song “it’s a small world”

The Disney Store’s Small World dolls are from the award-winning Animators’ Collection. These beautiful dolls are dressed in traditional costume. They sing in both their native language and in English, recorded by children from around the world for authenticity.

¿Quién quiere una?

We spoke to Diego Luna about his new film "Cesar Chavez" and why it needs to matter to Latinos on either side of the border. Turns out his mission is not too different from ours:

"If people go to the theaters on March 28th to see Cesar Chavez, to get inspired by his story, to engage emotionally with the ride of these characters, they’re going to be sending a clear message to this country: our community needs to be celebrated in film, needs to be portrayed with the respect, complexity and cultural diversity that our community has. And if we achieve that and send that message, we’ll be in a different place very soon. As audiences we can’t complain that our stories are not being told, if when they are we’re not out there to support them."

Raising #BilingualKids   Tip:

Don’t believe that there’s an age when it’s too late to gift your child a second language. It will be a bit harder the older they get because they’re not passive learners anymore, but with a good plan and constant exposure, it’s still possible – especially if the target language can be spoken by at least one caregiver at home all the time.

Known for helping kids learn their ABCs and 123s, Sesame Workshop announced a new initiative in partnership with the PNC Foundation that focuses on teaching letters and vocabulary to kids. The best part is that it's a bilingual resource! The materials in English and Spanish are specifically designed to:

-Build on young children’s natural sense of curiosity to grow their vocabulary around science, the arts and math during everyday moments.
-Excite children and families about discovering and learning new words all around them.
-Provide parents/caregivers and educators with simple strategies and ideas that help develop children’s vocabulary and easily integrate into their everyday routines.
