It's a lazy Sunday afternoon and I'm staring at a stack of hard drives. It's my collection of dead desktop drives I've accumulated in the last couple years from client jobs and giveaways. SATA drives on the left and the older IDE drives on the right. I don't want to just chuck this pile out the window, so I've got my Torx screwdriver set handy and will gut these things out for parts.

What can I do with the organs of dead hard drives - you ask? Quite a few interesting things as a matter of fact: mirrors, wind chines, fridge and cutlery magnets, clocks, and money holders to name a few.
