Having lived near and frequently playing Ruth for over 12 years, hard to believe any negative comments (some people just need to get a life). I've experienced many on-going grounds improvements since that time. The clubhouse staff is very accomodating, courteous, and highly professional. Soon, a newly designed, top-rate public driving range & practice facility will be open for all to enjoy and golf lessons are available from at least one very capable PGA pro. This 9 hole course is a very good value for just 12 bucks! It's considered an ideal "walking" track because greens to tee box locations are in close proximity. Sure, there are some hills and elevation changes but overall, a good walk and a challenging track. You want to ride? Just cough up another 8 bucks per player and you'll have a late model gas-powered cart! What separates this public course from other nearby public golf courses is the excellent condition of the zyosia tee-boxes, zyosia fairways and greens. Again, any negatives are just not true. The concrete cart paths are relatively new and provide a smooth ride. So, tee it up and have some relatively cheap fun on a nice golf course!

Pretty good confidence building course. There is very little danger and you can scramble and score well. The course is in good shape and the greens fees are low. Very good value.

Nice course, on the easy side with no bunkers but played well for someone with my lack of golfing ability.

For almost 10 years, I’ve been playing golf. It has always been fun. Overall, it’s a gentleman's sport. Every once in a while, I do encounter bad service, but nothing really left a bad taste in my mouth. Not so this time, when I visited Ruth Park Golf Club at University City. Ruth Park GC is my community golf club and I play here many many times with friends or by myself. I just recently realized that GC offers a free round of golf for peoples' birthday when they sign up for the GC's eclub online. I was happy to find out about the promotion because it was my birthday and I was trying to enter my information online to get my free round of golf. However, it kept getting "Sorry, the database is currently not available, please try again later" error message, regardless of how many times I tried. I reported the problem to the staff at the GC through phone calls a few times. I was told to come in to resolve the problem with the manager. Thank God it was Friday, I found some time to go to the golf club and was hoping to resolve the technical issue and get my free golf today. I went into the pro shop and talked to the staff at the cashier about the problem. The staff pointed me to the person to whom I should speak to. I started describing my problem to the person. The person’s first response caught me totally off guard. He said that it is not their problem and asked me to contact the hosting company who hosts their website to resolve the problem. I insisted that it is not my duty to contact the hosting company; Ruth Park needs to contact the hosting company and work with them to resolve the technical issues because they have a business relationship together. The person showed no patience and started walking away as I was trying to explain why they needed to contact the hosting company to resolve the problem. Very soon, I realized that my explanation was a joke to the person. I started feeling, as if, I was talking to myself. I chose to give up and was heading towards the door exit. As I was walking out, I heard that same person raise his voice with a belittlement tone stating, “You just want free golf.” I was shocked to hear that and it was very unprofessional from this supposed “professional.” I left the pro shop and thought that I shouldn’t have been treated the way I was treated. I decided to file my complaint and let that person know about my unhappiness with the treatment that I was given. There is nothing wrong with trying to get a free round of golf on your birthday. For their birthday, certain restaurants give out free meals! It’s called a promotion to build on existing business.

This is my home course and I love it to death. I've probably played at least 50 rounds over the 8 years I've been coming here, so I feel like I know it inside and out. It's a dynamic course that offers a challenge to beginners and veterans alike. It plays just over 3000 yds from the back tees, so a good driver of the ball can hit a lot of short irons and wedges into the greens, or leave the driver in the car and hit 3 wood or long irons to leave some longer approach shots. The course has plenty of elevation change and sideways slopes, putting a premium on placement over distance. The lone par 5 is a great example of this as drives that reach the top of the hill and on the right side are funneled down to the right, which can result in a ball out of bounds. The greens are always in great shape and generally offer more subtle breaks with the exception of the 5th hole that has a very severe two tier green. The course also offers a driving range that is currently undergoing major renovations and is slated to reopen July 1, 2016. The tree that occupied the middle of the range has been removed and work is being done to level out the whole area. The prices for the range were the best in St Louis before they closed it down, and unless they dramatically increase, will continue to be so. I'm constantly in awe at the quality and condition of the course and the great work the grounds crew do. The course drains very quickly and is open year round. All around you won't find a better deal in the metro area.

It's a short course but its got enough obstacles and elevation changes that it is a really fun course. It's been in pretty good condition every time I've played and the fee's aren't too bad.
