I stayed at the Best western about a week ago and I went down here to get a quick bite. When I tell you the food was EVERYTHING I COULD IMAGINE. From the freshly squeezed orange juice to the fries (both sweet potato and regular) to the burger with the caramelized onions everything was perfect. If I ever come back to California I would eat here again!

I’ve been here @ 101 Coffee Shop yesterday with my bestfriend. Just like everybody’s bet for Mac and Cheese, I ordered for 2. I like it most because of its cheesiest flavor and we also tried the No Huevos Rancheros for 2 also. The food was very yummy, tasty and flavorful. To go with our meals we had the Nut and Honey Milkshake. Such a great day and bonding!!!

Great pancakes. Free parking. Adequate service. Decent prices. Overall, what's not to love about the 101 Coffee Shop? Other than it can be a bit loud and crowded inside from time to time, it really reminds me of an East Coast diner. I guess it's somewhat of a tourist spot since it was featured in Swingers, but who cares, the food is good.

The atmosphere of this place puts most other retro diners to shame. I personally love old 50's diners. But one must admit, most are pretty cliche. I'm talking about the black & white checkered floors, the giant Elvis, a Betty Boop, lots of red, and modern jukebox. This place, however, sets itself apart. It's been around for a while. And it really shows. The decor looks like it hasn't been touched in decades. as a bit more of a 60's-70's feel to it, which I thoroughly enjoy. But enough about the decor, and let's get to the food already! I tried their breakfast, and it was a far cry from anything special. The eggs had some green peppers and other stuff I wasn't particularly a fan of. Almost like they were trying to be creative but didn't quite hit the mark...with me at least. The hashbrowns were a bit undercooked (even after I asked for a little crisp). The hot coco was made with water. To which I was informed about the difference between a "hot cocoa" and a "hot chocolate". Really? A hot cocoa is specifically made with water?? Hot chocolate...with milk? Is this common knowledge? I feel out of the loop here. I have to say, this is a great spot for late night hangouts in Hollywood. I am willing to give this place another shot. I have yet to try the rest of their menu. However, if the rest of their food is anything like the mediocre breakfast I had to endure, I'm gunna have to pass on anything but a milkshake next time I agree to meet up here!

Fries, Fries, Fries... If you only go for the fries, you'll be glad you did. Are they the best fries in LA, probably! What you get is a combo plate of traditional and sweet potato. Both are absolutely delicious. The salads are fresh and filling. When was the last time anyone called a salad filling. The turkey club sandwich is good for two meals, and of course comes with LA's best fries. Huevo Rancheros, to die for, and the portabello sandwich, which can suck, renews your faith in mankind. It's all good, just go... Go as late as 3AM, but go...

Great for late night (post drinking shenanigans) or daytime brunching. Just walk in and sit down if there is a table. Someone will bring you a menu. I have nicknamed their Onion Rings "101-ion Rings" (GET THE HOMEMADE RANCH SAUCE AND DIP AWAY)

Cozy and hip, this diner brings all the charm and character you'd expect from a retro style breakfast joint. The portions were a little smaller than you might be accustomed to finding, but the food ranked high on taste.
