I built a little bird house in your soul. And a bistro, an opera house and a condo development. It's getting crowded in here.

Listening yesterday, it was like old white guys mansplaining to other old white guys, some of which was very funny.

We moved the needle a little, but the reality is, without push from outside the chambers holding votes means nothing if nothing is actually done. Today is a day to take action - educate yourself on who you our reprsentatives are, and write them to take action. Email, phone calls, hand written letters, showing up at their offices - DO SOMETHING to help increase the momentum.

Representative search - http://ziplook.house.gov/htbin/findrep?ZIP=30316
Senator search - http://www.senate.gov/…/contact_informati…/senators_cfm.cfm…

Here is what I'm sending:
Dear Senator Isakson, Senator Perdue, and Representative Lewis,
The people in your communities, those you were elected to effecively represent are fed up with the complete lack of leadership we see from both houses of Congress and from both sides of the aisle.
This is the time when we are demanding you to take real, meaningful action that results in tighter restrictions on how guns are sold, closing gun show and private sale loopholes, banning assault weapons and ensuring that criminals and no-fly list members are unable to purchase a weapon.
We are tired of not being ignored because we can not offer up the kind of money that the NRA can bring to the table. We are exhausted with the concern that rampant gun violence brings to our communities. We are angry, we are focused and we are already organizing against you.
Reminding you of our collective power,
Lee

GRJAN is doing a Pledge a Protester!

What is this, you ask?

Well, every year, during their so-called "40 Days for Life" campaign, protesters stand outside of a clinic to harass their staff and people trying to seek healthcare. This year, they've targeted the clinic that our clients rely on.

This is where you come in! We are asking GRJAN supporters to pledge a small amount (we expect 10-30 protesters a day) per protester. At the end of the 40 days, you will make a donation that will go directly to support our abortion fund. This means that when protesters show up, they are helping provide abortion access for low-income people.

I asked her permission to take the photo, she obviously didn't speak English, but the interaction left that look on her face. Chinatown, San Francisco, CA.
