Do yourself a favor and take aTrump break to go back to the future and imagine what the world would be like if this man had not had the presidency stolen from him by the Supreme Court. At least he's been busy helping save the planet and its working. I miss politicians who have grace and intelligence.
Why is Al Gore optimistic about climate change? In this spirited talk, Gore asks three powerful questions about the man-made forces threatening to destroy our planet — and the solutions we're designing to combat them. (Featuring Q&A with TED Curator Chris Anderson)

Beulah Church's 230th Anniversary Celebration was this evening.  Here are a few highlights from photos with more coming from other photographers early next week (My apologies to Jeremy Bosse who also took part but was not able to be photographed well from where I was seated.)

First visit to Powdermill Nature Reserve - some really nice results on a very brief and easy trail.  In a couple of weeks the colors should be really great in the Laurel Highlands!

Trip to PetSmart and I almost walked away with this little piggie -- he had me captivated!

The final installment of The Hobbit is due out soon - the end of all things is near!  We have an amazing group of collectibles from the first three films that will be for sale on Ebay within the next two weeks, staged in scenes from the films as closely as we could given the selection we have.  Great fun putting these together - hard to part with our toys but time to move on...

Idlewild was taken over by the Scots today!  The place was packed, barely any parking.  Bagpipes still ringing in our ears (in a good way) from the massive march on the field after parade of the clans.  I've always wanted to watch brawny men in skirts toss tree trunks and throw rocks for sport, and today was my day!

More skinny pig admiration... um, so, don't you just want to hold this guy in your hand and rub his little bald backside?  Or is it just me?

Finally a great vantage point for the fireworks -- the pedestrian walkway on the Fort Duquesne Bridge over the Allegheny River.  Even with a tripod and the Fireworks setting on my 18 mp 30x zoom Sony camera, these were the best of around 70 shots.

This location is NOT open until 5:30 pm. They close at 4:30. We have all of our church's outdoor banners created here and they are very good.

I had the opportunity to tour The Empress Estate in October of 2014. I found the property breathtaking and was surprised to read the one negative review here on Google indicating it was trashy, hard to find, and more. There are signs in many places along the route, and at no time are you directed through a bad neighborhood. The community of Woodland is near I-5, and the route does not take you through a bad neighborhood! I saw all of the B&B suites and there was not one with a bed on the floor! Their website shows many beautiful views of the inside and outside spaces and gorgeous brides. I read their Facebook reviews and checked other sites to see that the vast majority of reviews are 4-5 stars. If I were planning an elegant event, I would definitely consider this venue.
