No pictures here to encourage your attention, but you want to read this if you travel.  Dangerous stuff.

Note to self:  remove storage case from tent before rolling tent for storage.  You'd think that'd be in the instructions somewhere.

Got to see this last weekend - was the second person through the door when it opened, actually. (Would have been first but it's rude to block your own mother out....). If you have any interest at all in South American history, the Indigenous Cultures of the Americas, the Andes, archaeology, or anything related... GO. Some of the most spectacular artistry you're ever EVER going to get to see, and probably the last time in our lifetimes it will all be in the same room. Irving is the second and last stop on the US tour.
While you're there, look at the timelines and relate them to what was going on in "Western Civilization."

Freedom Summer, a film by Firelight Media, documents the resistance and violence met by activists fighting for African-American voting rights in the Deep South during the summer of 1964. The film airs June 24 at 9 pm on PBS. Check your local listings.

Pictures from the altered ego....

Spent a few hours watching Tomball celebrate their German heritage.  There wasn't a whole lot of heritage on view but there was definitely a fair bit of celebrating.

hup two three four and... HALT!

The Other Texas, my sortof-kindof-almost Texas blogzine has departed the Big Blue Bog and set up camp over in the back pasture...

Drop on by.  Coffee's usually on and if I'm not right smack up to my eyeballs in a back of beyond swamp I'll probably jump at the chance to put my feet up and spin a yarn.  Or a rope.  (Give `im enough rope and ....)

Introduction
I'm not sure there's such a thing as "the correct R. Clayton."  However, if there's more than one of us, I'd recommend you switch to coffee or water until whatever it was you were drinking is out of your system.
Bragging rights
Not dead yet. That's better than I expected.
