Added photos of the sunny front courtyard, which is my favorite spot in the whole house.

And now I'm going to go take a book and a drink and sit on that bench in the sun. ~bask~

I know Obama's election in 2008 was a source of hope for a lot of people. Not me, though.

Oh, I was happy enough -- thrilled that we'd finally managed to elect someone besides a white male, and beyond relieved to finally be done with Bush.

But I'm afraid Obama didn't inspire me to hope. In fact, in the 24 years that I've been voting, no election has ever, ever been about hope for me. I'm a cynical kind of girl that way.

This year is different. This year, I have hope so deep that I become inarticulate. I actually start to cry every time I try to explain it.

So I'm going to use someone else's words.

"Aside from the election for president, in my humble opinion the Massachusetts Senate race is by far the most important election in the nation, and may well be the most important Senate election in a generation. If Elizabeth Warren is elected on Tuesday our national politics and the interests of voters in Massachusetts will be lifted by the most powerful, authentic and courageous voice for fairness and integrity that Washington has witnessed in many years."

Having her in the Senate could be game-changing all by itself. But my secret hope is that I will live to see her in the White House. That would absolutely rock my world. And yours.

Are you a writer? And a Mac user?

Three days left in the current MacHeist bundle: $29, of which 25% goes to (your choice of ten) charities.

Worth it IMHO just for the Scrivener license alone (reg $45), but also includes Evernote Premium, various other utilities, and several games.
