So there's this warrior, and he's leading a rebellion against a facist government oppressing Earth, but they over-power him and exile him to a space station in cryo sleep. About a century later, this government's continued controlling the people and want to rule the Universe, so they spread out among the stars. But one ship frees him when investigating the station, and he sees this as the opportunity to return to Earth and continue his crusade. In response, he's exiled to another planet for execution. Which comes fifteen years later when the Terran Empire are testing a new superweapon on the planet. But they've forgotten he's there, because in revenge they wiped-out all records of his existence. He uses the natural life on the planet to control the minds of the two officers examining the planet, in a similar manner to how their commanders enslaved Earth. He uses them to obtain the superweapon, which he will now use against the Empire. Unfortunately, they're all destructive and overpower him. Realising there's nothing he can do to set the Universe on its right course, he blows himself up rather than continue living in it. And all this time, the sacrifices made by their crew make the Empire think he was the villain.
