Why is it rated R? It's no gorier than the other two films of The Lord Of The Rings movies.
It takes itself way too seriously lol.
I hope the theatrical version has a re-write of the end so they die decently engaging deaths and keep the drama flowing instead of ruining it with 12 year old fanfiction writer crap.
I wanted to be properly depressed, not dismayed and disbelieving that such drivel could be passed off as decent battle drama.
Either you go for the drama in writing a story (book or film) or you don't. The halfway nonsense was disappointing to say the least.
