In 2008 Brian and I opened a map of the Midwest in search of our future home. After nearly a decade in California, 2000 miles from our families, we were ready to return to the heart of America. With m

When your kids do awesome things (like build a boat from scratch with Grandpa) and your wife is the amazing photographer/videographer/storyteller +Anna Mayer Photography, you get a powerful combination.

Hi, I'm new here, but I'd love to get to know the group. I'll start by asking a question that could generate some interesting dialog about tools.

I'm the process of developing a collaborative planning platform for the wedding industry and would love to build it based on the input and feedback of industry pros.  After all, you guys are the ones who will eventually be using it. :)

We will be linking brides with their planning partners (inc  wedding planners, vendors, wedding party, etc...) to simplify the sharing of ideas and plans and managing the conversations around them.

I'd love if you could share...

 • Some of the software tools you use in your job
 • What works well with them
 • What doesn't
 • What you'd love to have if you could wave a magic wand.

I wonder when our American culture will get back to valuing age and wisdom over youth and idealism...

Overall I recommend Dr Dawg to satisfy your occasional guilty pleasure. Initially, based on the name alone, I wasn't much of a fan. I thought it was kinda hokey. Now, I've been here, I'd say, oh maybe 6 or 7 times. Each visit has been equally pleasing. The food (at least the chili dog I get every time) is very tasty. I was actually impressed by the chili. That's often an easy place to skimp. No skimping here. Good stuff. The service has always been prompt and courteous. The decor is about what you'd expect, and clean. It's the type of place I'd be happy to work with.
