Sleek, spaceshiplike restaurant & lounge serving Masaharu Morimoto's pricey Japanese cuisine.- Google

The legendary Morimoto that was ... a bit of a disappointment. I expected a serious wow factor and while this was a great meal it just didn't have the brilliance I would have expected the name to carry. Still it was enjoyable. The tuna tartar was tasty

My favorite restaurant in NYC. The drinks are excellent. The sushi rice is soft. The sushi itself is super fresh. They also toast their own sesame seeds and it really makes a difference in the rolls. The fish entrees are also cooked to perfection (salmon, sea bass, yellowtail). The presentation is top notch. Order the yellowtail and they will sear it in the bowl at your table.

overrated and overpriced. I am a sushi expert and I can tell in a blink of the eye if its going to be ggod . well morimoto is a SCAM AND RIP OFF. we ordered most of he rolls on the menu and all of them tasted like crap. lifeless food, asparagus in almost every roll.nothing fancy. go to blue ribbon koi restaurant or thalia restaurant: much better presentation and much better taste

The sushi here is quite good, and definitely above average. But I'm not a fan of the generically upscale/swanky decor, and the stylishly dressed hordes of people who come here. Plus, Chef Morimoto is nowhere to be found, and like other celebrity chefs before him just uses his name to lure customers (like me) in.

Amazing food, stunning decor, not too loud. Highlights: rock shrimp tempura, slow cooked pork, and the absolute best sea bass I've ever had, bar none. Melted like butter in your mouth.
