Residual Effects of Anesthesia Months After Surgery
I was reminded about the important of taking anti-oxidants before surgery. One of my friends, who had been under the knife for 5 and 1/2 hours was still feeling fuzzy headed and tired often. Why?

Anesthesia robs the body of it anti-oxidants, such as Vitamin C, E, A and other important nutrients. This causes a the body to have to work extra hard to get rid of the anesthesia in the liver as well as creating a feeling of lethargy and fatigue. While there are several products out there that would fill the bill, I have had success with two supplements: Biotics BioProtect and Phosphorus 30C. Thinking about how hydration helps patients to recover quickly from surgery. Water is the ultimate medium for life, cleansing and hydration.....the body actually reads water as water and ear marks it for its hydration needs.
Ice tea, coffee, sodas, alcohol are not hydration drinks and actually give the body
other messages. The first two are diuretics and stimulate the body to release necessary water. This means for every cup of tea or coffee we drink, we need to drink one extra cup of water.

64 ounces a day is ideal. I like to drink as much water as possible in between meals. Why? Because it is best not to dilute digestive enzymes. Instead, drink a pint to a quart all at once mid morning or mid day or during sports activities. Yes, you may have to work close to a bathroom, but you will work better as the water has a cleansing effect that allows the brain to function better. Brains require a delicate balance of water and glucose to function optimally.

Your brain will be directing your recovery from surgery. Be sure that you hydrate well before the surgery as well as afterwards so that you can facilitate the detoxification from the anesthesia. Two quarts a day, in between meals is optimum for a flushing effect.

Or...you eat a fair amount of processed food that does not seem like it has a high sugar content, but in fact it is loaded with simple carbohydrates. Need a strategy to lower your sugar consumption? Consider the following suggestions...

Be sure to get a loving massage when you are able right after surgery....

Why?
I just talked to a wonderful man here in Troncones Mexico named Bill Landrum who assisted the spaying program down here by massaging joints and muscles of no less than 65 dogs after they got fixed or spayed. The vet could not believe how quickly they recovered from their surgery! That will go in our latest edition of Recover Quickly from Surgery!
