Truth
Happy Cinco de Mayo, everyone. I don't know about you, but I've been bombarded with images of sarapes and sombreros all day long. I've also read a lot of nasty commentary online that muddles a very important question. Are those Mexican costumes actually offensive? I know it can be confusing to figure this stuff out since…

Born to Be Blue opens with Chet Baker (Ethan Hawke) locked away in a decrepit Italian jail cell. He’s on the floor and he’s hallucinating, hard. A guard abruptly snaps Baker back to reality by announcing, in stern Italian, that he has a visitor. Some Hollywood big shot appears to have swooped in to save the day. Chet is headed back to the States and it looks like this fancy big wig saved him just in time. As he’s being rescued, Baker...

Midnight Special opens with Roy (Michael Shannon) and Lucas (Joel Edgerton) packing it up. They’re on the run and they don’t want to be spotted, so they’re vacating their motel room fast. With an Amber Alert broadcasting in the background, they gather their thoughts and belongings. In this confusion of swift movements, panicked faces and nervous energy, they look like a pair of tough guys running from the law. It’s uncertain if they’re ...

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens with an origin story we should all know by now. We watch as a young Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) walks alongside his parents’ coffins. It's clear that he’s burying them both today. Overwhelmed with loss, he understandably freaks out and takes off running into some nearby woods. As he’s running, he falls into a cave and has that famed encounter with a mess of bats. Bruce awakens from his recurring...

Zootopia opens at what appears to be a kid’s play, except these aren’t children, they’re baby animals. It’s adorable because they’re a bunch of “kids” and because they’re preforming a play about the history of their kind. It seems these animals weren’t always so highly evolved. They used to be savages, real animals that would tear at each other’s throats, who didn’t wear clothes and who were divided into two groups: predators and prey...

I was floating around the socialmediaverse the other day when I came across a friend’s Facebook post. She’d linked to the article below about why one woman opted out of having children. Intrigued, I clicked and read. 7 Realizations That Convinced Me Not To Have Children – thoughtcatalog.com In my friend’s post, she said she…

This is not an April Fool's joke. This is reality. From the article:
"Even as immigration soared in the 1990s, crime rates in the United States began to tumble. The vast majority of the 11m Mexicans there are “hard workers, risk-takers and savers”, as a diplomat puts it. The border has never been more secure; net migration from Mexico is now negative, taking into account 100,000 deportations last year (which the Obama administration carried out with Mexico’s co-operation). American demand for drugs is literally killing Mexicans, with 60,000 dead in the country’s drug war. When Mr Trump points to Mexico’s $58 billion trade surplus, he fails to note that every dollar of goods it sends across the border contains 40 cents of Made in America content."
Mexico needs to stand up for itself in the United States

The staff is friendly and the theaters are pretty clean as are the rest rooms. It's super convenient if you live in downtown SJ.

The drinks were good, the spring rolls great, but I got an undercooked chicken burger. My server was apologetic and took it away. I no longer wanted my entrée, but my server insisted on taking it back and getting me a new one. I got the first plate of salmonella well after my husband was served his dinner. After that was taken away, I didn't get my fully cooked meal until after my husband had finished his. I attempted not to get irked and insted ordered another drink. The first whiskey cocktail was great, the second was missing ingredients. That was when I officially had enough and got angry with the service. Also, the woman sitting at the table next to mine, ordered a mixed drink and was brought a drink with no alcohol in it. Ultimately, I was charged for the food didn't want and didn't end up eating. I will not return to this establishment and caution anyone reading this to think twice before heading to M lounge in San Jose.
