Geo-Trekking Memories
Door County, Wi USA  ~  06 - 10 Oct 2012

We made a nice weekend holiday trip up to Door County, with splendiforous autumn climate beholding us.  Highpoint of the trek was a day-long visit to The Ridges Sanctuary, where we walked thru the boreal forest and wetland as the sun peeked amongst fluffy cumulus cloads.  We viewed a variety of critters, including a pair of blue herons that were foraging around in one of the wetland ridge gullies.  Notable dining pleasures were experienced, with extra tasty eats at the Sister Bay Cafe.  We devoured plates of Norweigan salmon, together with scandinavian style potatoes and veggies.  Our compliments to the cafe's Chef Nordstrom !!!

July 2012 vacationing to Lake Superior's north shore in Minnesota.  Awesome landscape, beautiful vegetation, clean & breathable air.  Lots of happy people. Grand Superior Lodge was an excellent base-of-operations for ten days.   Favorite destination point was the village of Grande Marais, MN.  Angry Trout Cafe was simply awesome. Grilled Walleye Pike & Chef's Salad; extraordinary ingredients, delicious & healthy meal.....   KJP

At The Ridges in Door County, Wi USA
October 2013, Trekking around The Ridges boreal forest land, enjoying all things there in a natural state.  Viewed two blue herons in the swails, and a doe deer near the beaches.  All-in-all, a splendid morning in the woolands, and then luncheon nearby in Bailey's Harbor.
