YOU ARE INVITED Thurs 18 Feb - 12.30pm to 2pm

HEAR : Rick Carter
TOPIC : Innovating South Australia's Future

As we know the large scale Adelaide employers in traditional manufacturing are going and not coming back but there are smaller, successful start-ups emerging that have the potential to collectively make a significant economic contribution.

In recent years Greater Adelaide has built a very rich ecosystem of support for new ventures. This includes incubators and accelerators, awards and education, co working spaces and more.

Adelaide is establishing itself as the most attractive and vibrant location for Australian entrepreneurs to launch and run their startups. And recent decisions by Global IT giants Microsoft and CISCO to establish Innovation Centres here add further credibility to the claims.

We need Innovation that creates jobs soon and on a grand scale. But the statistics show it takes 2,000 startups to build one High Growth ready Scaleable enterprise.

Find out why this is and what we can do about it in Adelaide.

Rick Carter has a focus on helping people looking to develop Disruptive Innovation in business.

He has a background in IT as a Programmer and Analyst through to Sales and Marketing Director roles with national and international software companies.

He has been involved in Sports Marketing then Media and PR .

Celebrate with us Rotary International's Birthday on 23rd February with a gift to babies on their birth day.

Rotary Adelaide West Club's support of this heart-warming Community Service project encourages a love of books and reading, by giving each child born at the Womens & Childrens Hospital in the week of Rotary's Birthday a copy of Mem Fox's famous book 'Ten Little Fingers, Ten Little Toes'.

Improving Literacy is one of Rotary's 5 areas of focus.

This appealing book carries a message which echoes Rotary's ethos of no discrimination on the grounds of gender, colour or religion. With our multi-cultural society, many babies born today will be first-generation Australians whose parents' first language will not be English.
