We were the first #dogblog  with the privileged of trying the new PawPals with Annie dog subscription box. The great thing about this box is that it doesn't  auto-renew and the items are "paw picked" by Annie herself. Check out what was inside. #sponsored   #dogsubscriptonbox  #subscriptionbox

Sleepypod has crash-tested its Clickit Utility harness (featuring three points of attachment), and is pleased enough with the results to launch a big PR campaign. Here's the video of the test (dummy is of a 75 lb. dog; crash simulated at 30 mph), and indeed, it looks like the pup would survive. Compare and contrast the results from the Center for Pet Safety's tests a couple of years ago, with a series of unnamed harnesses (http://centerforpetsafety.org/research/). I'm intrigued enough to buy a Clickit harness for Chloe when they go on sale at the end of August.

I flew with Gretel last month and it was my first experience. Overall, it went well but a whole bunch of things happened that I wasn't prepared for. The things I learned will make the experience go much better next time.

These cute dog bowls from 4 Paws Pottery were specially designed for dogs with long ears. The shape allows a dog to eat or drink from the bowl without dragging their ears in it. I'm giving a medium-sized bowl away to one lucky reader.

Driving to from the Us to Canada with your dog? It can seem intimidating and really confusing but it's really pretty easy. Check this out for the proper paperwork requirements and other things you will need to know about what you can and can't bring with you. I also prepare you for the questions the border agent will ask.

February is National Pet Dental Health Month. WHIMZEES dental chews are an easy way to do something to help keep your dog's teeth clean and gums healthy every day. I feel good about giving these chews to Chester and Gretel because they I they don't have any artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. They also don’t contain any GMOs, gluten, or grain and are high in fiber and low in calories and sugars. #sponsored #DogDentalHealth

I have tried out several sling-type carriers for Chester and Gretel. The Linentails Snuggle n' Stride is, by far the best sling bags for carrying your small dog I have found. It's made out of eco-friendly linen (this is NOT your Grandma's linen), is super comfortable and has little pockets in it for my money and keys.

Teachers, Parents and Grandparents can use this great book, that features Dachshunds, to teach kids that differences should be appreciated. The creative team behind the book says “Kids need to hear this message, especially for school readiness. It’s so important to find our differences exciting and not cause for fear or bullying”. During the book launch period, you also get the e-book when you buy the hard cover book.

Almost all trails inside Olympic National Park are closed to dogs. This dog friendly trail is just outside of the park boundary so dogs are allowed. This trail will give you a very similar experience to many trails inside the park and the views from the top are absolutely amazing.

Two Adventurous Dachshunds Breaking Stereotypes, Fighting Pet Obesity and Having Fun
Introduction
We believe that small dogs are just as capable of doing the things that big dogs do. We think it is unfortunate that so many people underestimate what the small dog is capable of.

Sadly, part of this "underestimation" is the idea that small dogs do not need exercise. This, combined with showing our love through food, had led to an epidemic of obesity in small dogs.

We created this blog partially to illustrate what small dogs are capable of through the sharing of our stories and adventures. We also wanted to raise awareness around the importance maintaining a healthy weight for your pet. Our hope is that you will be entertained reading our blog and maybe learn something along the way.
