I have only made it to BkB two times so far but for a different, hard workout or just some fun, it is the place to go. The staff is helpful, the place is clean, and there are many options for climbing (some very easy, some nearly impossible). Go with some friends who will push you, encourage you, and tease you just enough to get you to push yourself. Be angry when little kids fly up the walls and you can't even mount. Then go for brunch at Bar Tabac and nurse the sore muscles with a bloody mary!

The Jimmy is SoHo's latest hotel rooftop (actually open for over a year) with a great, yet tiny, pool and views to die for. What sets the Jimmy apart from other rooftop bars is its intimate nature. The bar area looks like the living room of a dream penthouse apartment. It is not a grand ballroom with crazy light shows and banquettes to bump and grind on, it is an intimate, conversation-friendly spot with comfortable, yet very stylish sofas. The bartenders are very fast and very precise. Though Jimmy sets itself apart from other rooftop lounges with its more low key, date friendly vibe, it joins them in two important aspects: prices are sky high and the doorman can can be shady.

For an intense workout that is actually motivating and positive, definitely give Soul Cycle a try! The high octane environment and absolutely energized instructors take you from song to song, and workout to workout with skill and ease. They will push you, and in turn you will push yourself. Soul-Cycle is a great all-around workout, both cardio and mild weight training. Be careful...the rush is addictive!

Bar Tabac has an amazing brunch. They often have a live band play, and on nice days, all of the doors are open. The croque madam and french fries, with a bottle of champagne or a carafe of mimosas...best mornings!

Le Bain is the place to go for a different experience each day/night you make it there. With a crowd ranging from glamorous club kids, to vampire chic, to sweat pant-wearing artists, you can't go wrong! The drinks are quite expensive, but with a view like that from the roof, and the chance to dip in the hot tub (often with VERY scantily clad modelesque regulars) ease the strain on the wallet. Try to go on a night when Richard Alvarez is throwing the party...the door is tough, but you'll never run out of crazy things to see and interesting people to meet!

Hudson Clearwater is a great off-the-radar kind of place. The only problem with that is that it is crowded even though it is supposed to be "hidden" from the masses. The quaint restaurant, with a great Chef's kitchen counter and a really cozy bar (get the far corner stools for best conversation-friendly seating) has great appetizers (duck leg confit and polenta) and excellent, well-crafted cocktails (try the King's County, even when it's not in season). Sit at the bar and make new friends...the food, the company, and the right bartender will make your night!

Went to Windsor for drinks and some Olympic viewing. The drinks were great, but the best part, and the reason for this review, is the service. The ENTIRE place was packed, yet our server, Caitlin, trudged through the whole crowd about 50x to keep our glasses full the entire time. No one in our 6 person party even reached the bottom of their glass before another arrived. She was great!
