I bought my first real road bike from Mike's today. Although I am a total newbie, the staff was friendly and seemed to enjoy educating me on the specs and tradeoffs between various bikes. They ultimately helped me find a bike that I'm very happy with. Added bonus, I went in about an hour before close and ended up finishing the purchase about 10 minutes after close without the staff seeming rushed. Totally different than my experience at Performance Bikes where the staff seemed indifferent and the bike selection was disappointing.

I wandered into Mike's Bikes today looking for a new seat for my crappy old bike. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They measured me to determine the correct width of seat for my "seat bones", and helped me find a comfortable new seat at a very reasonable price. The employee helping us - Adam - even installed the seat for me so I could make sure it was exactly what I wanted, and he went above and beyond the call of duty to adjust it perfectly to my leg and arm length, so it's actually a lot easier to pedal now, too. None of the employees cared that I had a crappy bike and wasn't looking to spend a lot of money - there was no snobbery, elitism, or pushiness. I will definitely be shopping here again! Edit to add: They are also donating my old seat to Africa, which I thought was pretty awesome. Good use for old bike parts!

These guys are great! They're especially warm, friendly and patient with you when you may not know the first thing about the apparatus you're riding. I've taken my bike there for a tune up and had it riding like new. They've also got a weekly, free bike maintenance workshop thing going on Wednesdays. Very helpful for learning your way around your bike. Also open late enough for you to reach right after work.

My friend lent me his bike to use for a while under the caveat I got the gears repaired. So I headed to Mike's Bikes on a Saturday afternoon where I was greeted by a friendly staff member as soon as I entered the shop. I explained the problem (I didn't know exactly what was wrong), they checked the bike, identified the problem and fixed it on the spot in about ~15 minutes for ~$20. I was pretty impressed with the service, but that wasn't the end of it! On my way back home I managed to get a puncture in the rear wheel, I quickly walked the bike back to the shop where to my dismay they were closing. Despite the fact it was already 10 minutes past closing they let me in the shop. It turned out a special key was required to remove the wheel which I didn't have, so they agreed to let me leave the bike in the shop for several days until I was able to get the key off my friend. They even noticed my dirty hands while I was filling in some paper work and allowed me to wash them out back. All of which was totally above and beyond what they needed to do in my books, especially since the shop was technically closed, really impressed!

Excellent Bike Shop!! I came into the shop not totally sure what I wanted, and the sales staff helped me try out multiple bike and they were very patient, as I'm fairly indecisive. I left the store having purchased a bike, and I told them I needed it relatively quickly as I was moving to New York the next week. They said it would get to the store thursday. The bike got to the store four days earlier, which was fantastic!! Overall great experience!!

Super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff, but beware the prices. Everything here is about 2-3 times as expensive as comparable products on Amazon, after shipping.
