Four days motorcycle mountain riding, tent camping in national forest, staying at teeny Air BB, circle up through Dalhlonega / Ellijay Ga, hairpins, -- sleeping under the full moon, etc.. Over to Chattanooga, Lookout Mountain, West Point Lake-- my iPhone dropped off the MC and must have broken into 100 pieces. So I may have to dig to find some of the snapshots. Here are a few.

My understanding is that in states where marijuana has been openly legalized, one incredible consequence has been a plummeting of opioid addiction issues-- health, legal, sociological, socioeconomic, employment, familial, et al., have plummeted... PLUMMETED, and the state coffers are full of money to help the people who have medical drug issues. See, as an example, COLORADO. Therefore, if this is the case, we need to totally push back against Idiot Sessions and his bullshit of having the Feds tear into marijuana again.

NBC had an evenhanded piece on the issue of Trump deregulation and coal jobs. Turns out, it's just all bullshit. Trump may well go down a hero for "standing up to save coal miners" - but it's the equivalent of someone in 1900 "standing up to save ship canvas sailmakers" - meaningless drivel, in the face of reality.

Inter alia, the piece reports that:

- [ ] Coal jobs not "coming back" because coal does not make economic sense:; we cannot legislate against reality.
- [ ] Wind, other renewables and natural gas are the business reality for power generation in North America
- [ ] Wind cost per KW down 50% and now competitive.
- [ ] Natural gas lower cost, cleaner, more efficient, more easily obtained
- [ ] Multi billion dollar coal processing plants are extremely huge physical behemoths, are old/worn out and will not be replaced. It simply doesn't make sense to replace them
- [ ] Coal's only use in N America is power generation. It is just not going to continue. It's over.
- [ ] The ONLY possible positive news for coal miners is that the loss of jobs might (might) be slowed, IF we could increase EXPORTS of mined coal. Other countries are not yet switched to renewables etc.
- [ ] Stemming, to some degree, the increased job loss among miners is not going to really solve anything.

Experts say that both automation and the availability of the much cheaper natural gas mean that Trump can’t bring back coal jobs just by eliminating climate-change protections. “Deregulation isn’t going to help. Energy production has moved on,” Noah said. “Coal jobs are like those dads who went out to get cigarettes: They’re not coming back.”

If you are feeling academic and wonkish, here is an excellent article on the high-satisfaction rated, public/private health care system in Ireland. It is clear & concise.

Make no mistake and do not misunderstand that the know-nothing, hard-core stooges think that Trump is doing great. He is accomplishing at a 100% rate:

1. Keeping us safe from being overrun with Muslims and violence like Europe has experienced

2. Creating thousands of jobs and bringing jobs back to the US that were stolen by China and Mexico

3. Securing our Southern border from being overrrun daily with drug mules and criminals

4. Building up our military that Obama allowed to fall into tatters

5. Protecting our Christian heritage from Muslims and ragheads

6. Returning us to a time when we could call a spade a spade, a coon a coon and a bitch a bitch-- and when political correctness was unknown.

7. Preventing us from spending hard earned tax money on old people who should've saved their money, lazy blacks who wont work and buying food for people who should get jobs

REX THINKS HE IS STILL SIGNING THE CHECKS.

SOS Rex Tillerson, on breaking 50 years of tradition and taking a single right wing reporter on his Asia trip "...I'm not a big media access person; I just don't need it..." well, Rexie, this isn't EXXON, you don't sign anyone's checks, it doesn't really matter what you feel about press access, or what YOU need. You are conducting the business of the United States.... we are your employers. You must be covered by the press so we know what you are doing, saying and how. You work for US, not the other way around.

Hello! North Florida pops into Spring, along a newly opened state road that cuts through the forests and wilderness between Havana and Bradfordville. All about 12 miles north of Tallahassee. The flowering trees are our famous dogwoods, which used to line every street and highway, this time of year. I think a fungus or disease almost wiped them out, awhile back.

Greed. Religion. Sociopathy. Destruction. Death. Torment. Instead of agriculture, beauty, education, peace.

SYRIA. This is what mankind does with its resources. The same effort and money could create a peaceful, prosperous society.

But this is what mankind chooses.

Numerous unsung, unnamed heroes are serving inside the Trump administration. Not the hacks and stooges, bobbing & clapping. No. I mean several of the generals, a couple of the Cabinet Secretaries; They are not silly, shallow, stupid, unaware people, any more than you & I. They are as concerned and appalled as we are. But they also know that the ship must remain under sail and be seaworthy, ready and fit. They know the best course for the country is to be a competent person, wielding power & responsibility well. They didn't sign on for it, but they now understand they are the guardians of sanity. They know it's all nuts. They are enduring, as well. I thank them for their service.
