King of Pain

There's a little black spot on the sun today
It's the same old thing as yesterday
There's a black hat caught in a high tree top
There's a flag pole rag and the wind won't stop
That's my soul up there.

I have stood here before in the pouring rain
With the world turning circles running 'round my brain.
I guess I'm always hoping that you'll end this reign,
But it's my destiny to be the king of pain…

This easy shrimp boil combines potatoes and corn with sliced sausages and shrimp to create a flavorful one-pot meal. Bay seasoning, a fragrant blend of herbs and spices, enhances the taste.

Ingredients:
6 Tbs. Old Bay or other crab boil seasoning
2 large yellow onions, quartered
1 garlic head, unpeeled and halved crosswise
2 lemons, halved
2 lb. small red-skinned potatoes
4 ears of corn, each cut into thirds
1 1/2 lb. smoked pork or chicken sausages, cut into slices 1 inch thick
3 lb. large shrimp, unpeeled and tails intact
Directions:
Simmer the potatoes
Fill a large pot with water and set over high heat. Add the Old Bay seasoning, onions, garlic and lemons and bring to a boil. Add the potatoes, reduce the heat to low and simmer until the potatoes are tender, 15 to 20 minutes.

Cook the shrimp
Add the corn and sausages to the pot and cook for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat, add the shrimp, cover and let stand until opaque, about 4 minutes. Drain all the ingredients in a colander, then return them to the pot or a large serving bowl and serve immediately. Serves 6.

In optics, particularly as it relates to film and photography, depth of field (DOF) is the distance between the nearest and farthest objects in a scene that appear acceptably sharp in an image. Although a lens can precisely focus at only one distance at a time, the decrease in sharpness is gradual on each side of the focused distance, so that within the DOF, the unsharpness is imperceptible under normal viewing conditions.
In some cases, it may be desirable to have the entire image sharp, and a large DOF is appropriate. In other cases, a small DOF may be more effective, emphasizing the subject while de-emphasizing the foreground and background. Incinematography, a large DOF is often called deep focus, and a small DOF is often called shallow focus.

Beginnings of football at Alabama
According to a November 25, 1926 article in The Crimson White, football was first introduced at the University of Alabama in 1892 by W.G. Little of Livingston, Alabama, who had been a student at Andover, Massachusetts and "went to the University for the game."
Alabama's first football game was played in Birmingham on Friday afternoon, November 11, 1892, at the old Lakeview Park. Alabama defeated a team composed mostly of high schoolers 56-0. That Saturday, November 12, Alabama played the Birmingham Athletic Club, losing 5-4 when Ross, of B.A.C., kicked a 65-yard field goal. This field goal was a collegiate record at the time.
In 1896 the University's board of trustees passed a rule forbidding athletic teams from traveling off-campus. The following season only one game was played and in 1898 football was abandoned at Alabama. Student opposition to the ruling forced trustees to lift the travel ban and football was resumed in 1899. The 1918 season was cancelled on account of World War I but the game was resumed the following year.
Alabama first gained national recognition for football in 1922 when it defeated the University of Pennsylvania 9-7 in Philadelphia. The following season Wallace Wade became head coach and in 1925 led the Crimson Tide to its first undefeated and untied season and its first trip to Pasadena, California with a Rose Bowlinvitation. On January 1, 1926 in the Rose Bowl, Alabama came from behind to upset the University of Washington 20-19.

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Introduction

Alby spent most of his professional life working as a commercial artist / photographer where he developed his skills in design, imaging and CG special effects. He has worked with customers such as Cooking Light, Southern Living, Cosmo, Better Homes and Gardens, Broombergs, among many more.

Since 1992 he has been creating images with digital photography. In 2005 he became serious about his personal body of art. He now uses DSLR cameras, computers, photoshop and giclee printers to do his print work using new and old darkroom techniques that had first inspired him in the nineteen sixties.

While his work ranges from photo-realism to abstracts, all of his subject matter is organic. All of his images begin as something natural, even just a streak of light, and he treats them with various techniques to add an artistic edge. He is always experimenting with time-motion studies, light captures and new technologies like HDR, layer manipulation and panoramic stitching.

Alby has won many awards in the fields of photography and lithography.  From such associations as GATF, PIA and PIAS.

His goal, in any work he does, is to elicit an emotional response in his audience and to create a body of work that will give pleasure to generations to come.
