Consider this some Wonkblog news you can use, at least if you're an aspiring congressional staffer: a short little tutorial on how to tie a bowtie.

Dear Mr. Uejio:

Friday I decided to buy a new Toyota 4 runner.  I went to Wells Fargo bank in Kearney Nebraska and got pre-approved for the loan.  Sunday I drove to Lincoln Nebraska and stayed the night at the Holiday Inn.  Monday I went to Anderson Mazda and bought the Toyota.  Anderson Mazda approved me for another Auto Loan.  So........I had a pre - approval from Wells Fargo.  Anderson Mazda arranged financing for me locally.  My credit is good.  Tonight was so upset with First National Bank of Omaha.......I left the house and went to buy some supplies for Head Start , here in Gibbon, Nebraska.  The bill was 187.00 even.  Walmart had a sign at check out.......offering 25.00 discount on a purchase of 75.00 or more.  But, I had to apply for a credit card...ugh.  Like I need another credit card.

I had 200.00 cash in my wallet ...... I decided to apply for the walmart credit card.

i was declined for the credit.

the only thing that has happened since Friday.....................is this Fucking letter from First National Bank of Omaha.

The letter is dated 9/10/15.  Account number.........9224.  That fucking bank charged off a perfectly good account.   Mine !!!!

The account is/was in good standing.  I have had it for about 2-3 years.

I recently moved from Colorado to Nebraska.  I called First National Bank of Omaha a couple weeks ago and told them....i finally have a new address.  Their fucking system charged off my good standing Account ?????

i called the 800 number on the letter from fucking first nat.  i was hung up on 3 times !!!!  All the customer support people were nice.........but they couldn't help me.

Fucking first nat..............charged off a good standing account  ????????  F F N............is fucking up my day !!!!!!

It's nobody fault.....its the fucking system, according to customer support !!!!!!

Customer support said it was a system error......and they were sorry ?????

i asked for the President of fucking first national..........they said he went by two names  ....  Carl and something else.

The fucking first nat system...............has fucked up my credit in 3 days.........the efficient fuckers !!!!!!!!!!!!

At the bottom of the letter.............it talks about.........The Federal Equal Credit Opportunity Act.  It has the information for the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection.

Thats how I obtained your name.  WTF is going on ????

This is not a he said she said.  The letter is in black and white.  The phone call to fucking first nat........was recorded by F F N......and I disclosed to them I was recording the call too.

F F N............owes me back 1 and 1/2hours of my life !!!!  And they have no right to put a charge off on my Bureau.  F F N can report to the 3 credit reporting agencies.............But all we can do is call the 3 agencies.

F F N..........................................is charging off a current customer in good standing   ?

Fucking up my credit report.

F F N...........dont they pay insurance premiums to FDIC ?

In so doing.............dont they have to treat customers right ?

I mean they put the little FDIC...sign up.......................Does that sign give F F N the right to fuck up peoples credit and day ?

This all is in black and white and all calls have been recored by both parties.  Both parties gave each other consent to record the calls ???

Should I contact FDIC ??

Thank You.

Squeal! The first 538 polling forecast of the season!
Three weeks before the Iowa caucuses, the polling data looks good for Newt Gingrich.

So for a while there we were concerned with climate change; while the economy obviously takes immediate precedence, we should try and remember there are economic consequences to climate as well.

You don’t often hear the term start-up and government agency in the same sentence. But, being a new, 21st-century agency we think of ourselves as just that: a startup agency seeking new ways to improve government engagement with the millions of consumers we are tasked with helping. We also understand the success of a start-up begins with a talented staff. The CFPB Design+Technology Fellowship looks to develop that talent through a unique opportunity for developers and designers. Join us, and you will be given an opportunity to help create a dream technology environment for a new organization.
If you're a talented developer or designer, you're getting a lot of offers. But you need a serious challenge. And we're pretty sure you won't find anything as serious as this. We know what you're thin...

An interesting look at who consumes fast food.
A new study in the academic journal Population Health Management finds that it’s middle to upper income Americans who eat the most fast food, rather than low income populations. A household earning $60,000 tends to eat the most fast food. And one earning $80,000 is actually more likely to hit the drive thru than one earning $30,000: The best predictor of how much fast food an individual eats? Researchers DaeHawn Kim and J. Paul Leigh finds it’s ...

I DO things; I am the string between the plastic cups of governance.
Introduction
Like there's another Dave Uejio out there?

What modest notoriety I've gained generally comes from my favorite things:
  • Public Service. I'm Lead for Talent Acquisition at the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
  • Young Government Leaders (YGL) I'm the Prez!
  • Minimalist Running: I've run 4 marathons (2 in Vibram FiveFingers). I completed my first Ultra (50k) and I may have a minimalist shoe problem.
  • Dancing: I dance Lindy Hop, Blues, and Balboa here in DC.
  • Information: I read voraciously and perhaps overshare information. Hopefully + will allow me to avoid spamming people who are totally uninterested in wonkery, recipes, politics, policy, or whatever else shows up in my Reader feed.
