Mindfulness is best known for its positive effects on practitioners’ brains and bodies. My research suggests it may also encourage compassion toward others.

I'm heading out to beautiful ‪#‎Singapore‬ tomorrow to co-host Wisdom 2.0 Asia two weeks from now.

This is the first time we're doing this in Asia. In our experience, the first time we do this in any region, we can expect about 250 to 300 attendees, but we're still 2 weeks away and we're already at 500 attendees. The whole team is very excited.

Fortunately, being Singaporean, I'm very kiasu and gotten us enough space for 600 people, just in case we get 2x over-subscribed (which seems to be happening). So, lucky lor, you still got chance. Don't miss out on your opportunity to be part of history, my friends, only 100 tickets left.

See you in Singapore!

His Holiness the Dalai Lama turns 80 today.  His message to the world is in A Force for Good: The Dalai Lama’s Vision for Our World.

The present he wants most is an act toward a better world, and post then it at www.joinaforce4good.org/join/

I will do an act of peace as my birthday present to the Dalai Lama.  I encourage you to do it too.
The world is changing - let's make it for the good.

Wow.  To be compared to Steve Jobs is an unexpected honor.

As with many contemporary trends, Silicon Valley was there first. ... For years,[meditation's] high priest was Steve Jobs, a Zen enthusiast. These days, it’s Chade-Meng Tan.

I have an idea for the preservation of Tibetan culture, but I've kept it mostly to myself because it's even crazier than my usual ideas. Last week, I shared it with Bob Thurman, Tsewang Namgyal, and a few other friends, and they were inspired and they encouraged me to blog about it.
