I have been to this restaurant on two other occasions and liked it enough to invite 18 of my closest friends to have dinner here for my birthday. I ordered the same dish I have before, the Linguini Cardinale. As I was eating it, I thought the lobster tasted like ammonia. Then another person at our table who ordered the same dish, said her lobster tasted bad as well. We asked the waitress to take them back. The chef sent the manager over to tell us that the lobster is fine and that they will not take the meal off our bill. They offered to take a portion off my for my friend's meal, but said that I had eaten too much. Honestly, there is no way I had eaten more than a quarter of the pasta and a couple pieces of the lobster. I eat at restaurants an average of 7-10 meals per week and I never send my food back. I was not causing trouble to save a couple of bucks. I simply didn't want to get sick and was hoping that out of respect the restaurant would apologize at the very least. That was not the case, they just made the situation worse and treated me like I was looking for handout. As a business owner, it is my philosophy that the customer is always right. At Filomena, their philosophy must be that the arrogant chef is always right. If they had handled this correctly, we would have spent far more money on drinks and dessert. Instead we had to go to another establishment and I will NEVER step foot back in this restaurant again. And yes, I'll tell everyone that will listen about my horrible experience. Thanks for putting a dark cloud over my birthday experience Filomena!

These guys completely exceeded my expectations. I've been surfing for 17 years and this was my wife's first time. Eduardo took me out on one of his surf safaris, which is a great way to get acquainted with Maui. Even if I spent hours on the internet and several more hours driving around, I don't think I would have found waves like we did. Not to mention the insights he was able to provide about the surf spot and to my actual surfing. Eduardo also took my wife out surfing for the first time. She was nervous ahead of time, but he made her feel completely at ease. Before long she was catching waves on her own and standing up consistently. She's gone from someone that was apprehensive about trying surfing to someone who is looking forward to going again. On our next visit to Maui, we are looking forward to a multi-day package and some yoga as well. I highly recommend Surf Yogo Maui - they are organized, helpful and great at what they do!
