Went and picked up my 76 Bonneville T140 today and started working on it right away...it needs a bit of love but so far everything is working and in pretty good shape. Did the Muriatic acid in the tank to get out the surface rust. The front brake is lever/resevoir needs a cleaning and the rear has no fluid but other than that should be easy to fix. hooked it up to a battery and all the electronics work and tested the spark, it strong so by next week I should be able to start it!

needs...New tires
battery
rubber peices for center stand (new peg rubber also)
brake light cover
signal cover
seat cover
new grips
probably some fresh cables? and new chain?
all new fluids

I had a Honda CB350 when I was a young lad, the carb seals were all dried up and shrunken, cracked it never stayed in tune so ya I know it won't run right if stuff is leaky.

Non stop working all of May. Have my motorcycle packed ready to go camping even though I have a feeling I will not finish early today.

Today will be only the third time this winter I will go out and push snow...unreal.

Its four months into my not drinking beer and yesterday I was around someone that had a few, Stella Artois breath really stinks.   Another good 30KM ride out in the Farm roads yesterday and think if I'm back after plowing snow I will go for another ride.  I put up a Kijiji ad seeing if anyone would want to trade my bike for a smaller older twin, so far nothing.  I honestly love my old BMW has been the most powerful, comfortable, reliable motorcycle and for some odd reason I still would prefer a smaller, lighter, more fuel efficient old style twin that has the thump thump instead of a car engine style exhaust tone.  Both my girls are home from school for the week so I will be shuttle driver and food getter its nice to have them about.  (would be cool to turn my bike into a Scrambler, seriously debating that in my head)

Also, prices in Ontario are pretty much nuts on every bike, no matter the age.  Same with insurance.  It's not possible to compare to US prices.

Slowly going through my 76 Bonneville finding all the parts that need replacing or refurbishing. One spoke broken, posted a question on a forum if I should replace the one or replace all since they are original and rough condition. Master cylinders are very rough, hope I can rebuild. Battery tray rubber and whats left of the battery strap will have to replace.

Happy Canada Day! Ya, I'm not sure about resto projects, but I have a perfect place in my living room if ever I find a bike I want to do. Hope you have a great day.

So I went to the annual Paris Motorcycle show and spotted this bike...A 1976 Triumph Bonneville 750 that has a 5 speed transmission (left hand shifter) and front and rear disc brakes. Why this one caught my eye was that it was untouched, none of the phillips heads had been mushed and there is not spanner marks on any nuts..its a bike that was ridden for 17000km and sat...Will pick it up this weekend and paid around the same as what I paid for my BMW so I will get this one running and sell the Beemer in the fall or maybe next Spring.

I don't do much long distance either.  Most rides on the road are just to get to the trails.  The DS works perfectly.

We came at off season so they must be struggling to pay the bills charging $16 for a bowl of Udon that was not very good.

This dealership has a 2006 Toyota Tacoma for sale. The salesman on the phone has told me that it was in a minor accident. I requested that I take it a block down to the local Toyota dealership to have it checked and he refused to let me do that. DON'T buy from this dealership!

I felt like a tourist that had his pocket picked and should have known better to listen to the waitress and have their special that was a mix of very fresh seafood. The price for the plater was not mentioned and we were billed separately for each item. I asked if it was possible to have a side order of risotto and was brought a full $35 plate that was very salty. In the end the bill was $200 plus we left a nice tip, the staff were nice and I should have known better. Comparing this to another chefs Toronto restaurant (Richmond Station) I would say this was an average touristy place not great.
