Sports Anchor/Reporter at KETV Newswatch 7, covering local news in Omaha, and across the state of Nebraska & western Iowa
Introduction

KETV NewsWatch 7 weekend sports anchor Thor Tripp first became a part of the Cornhuskers media in the summer of 2008.  Bo Pelini then followed suit, and a new era of Nebraska football was born.

Thor has called Nebraska his home for the past four years, but he is no stranger to the Midwest, growing up in Minnesota and playing baseball at Division II Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D.

After joining the KETV NewsWatch 7 Sports team in July 2011, Thor moved to Omaha and says he’s been greeted with open arms and TV sets.

“The best part of this job is being out of the office and talking to people around the area. That’s what makes every game fun to cover."

Thor’s work has been voted First Place in the Great Plains region several times by the Associated Press, and he is thrilled to be part of the top-rated news team in Nebraska.

His life was also documented on the big screen with the release of “Thor” in 2011, and yes, he does carry his hammer to every game, so make way!

Thor feels lucky to be covering sports for a living and tries to bring a smile to your living room every night. He’s always looking for a story idea or a laugh, so don’t be afraid to say hello!

Feel free to email him at stripp@hearst.com.

My fiancé and I have been attending Simply Ballroom for the past two years, and our experience has been nothing short of perfect. We've danced with other studios in the area via other functions, but everything about Simply Ballroom has been far superior on a consistent basis. Owner Rachelle Anderson embodies everything you could want in a teacher: she is knowledgeable, experienced, fun, and able to relate to all ages and skill levels. She has always been very organized with our lessons, which means we are always able to move forward from previous sessions, rather than wasting time figuring out what she's already taught us. We've picked up so much already, and can't wait to come back every week! We've learned several different types of ballroom dancing, and also had Simply Ballroom choreograph our wedding dance for 2014. Not only do we love our dance, but friends have routinely commented about how beautiful it is. There is a clear difference between Simply Ballroom and the competition in terms of the end result. Whether it's a 90-year-old man looking to travel the world performing his routines, or a young girl just learning the basics, Simply Ballroom has something for everybody. We strongly recommend speaking with Rachelle about joining her studio - you'll be glad you did!
