The University of Queensland has launched a Leadership in Global Development MicroMasters course - the first of its kind to be offered in Australia.

The four courses may be taken individually as Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC), or if studied together with capstone assessment, they form one of the key entry requirements for a Masters degree in Leadership in Global Development at UQ. he MicroMasters provides people with a cost-effective and highly flexible pathway to a 12-month on-campus master's degree program.

The Shanghai Ranking puts UQ in the top 10 globally in Mining and Mineral Engineering (2), Ecology (3), Hospitality and Tourism Management (3), Biotechnology (7), Water Resources (8) and Geography (9).

A clinical-stage biotechnology company established by The University of Queensland - UQ and Emory University to develop cancer therapies has raised US$16 million in series A investment.

The investment from the Brandon Capital-managed Medical Research Commercialisation Fund (MRCF) and Uniseed will enable the company, called QUE Oncology Inc., to further develop its leading drug candidate Q-122 and progress its preclinical pipeline.
