I (Ben) have just come back from a weekend staying at a friends bach in Whiritoa. It's a beautiful beach and the changeable weather over the weekend made for challenging photography. The first morning, I lined up a shot, and the sky lit up in these incredible colours, Unfortunately I'd lined up a shot the other way! So I ran across the beach and took this shot. A few seconds later it was all gone again! Was very thankful for the new Tripod (thanks Carters Photographics ) made me realise how slow I was with my old clunky one!

We are pleased to announce that New Zealand's only active marine volcano can now be seen in our range of postcards! Taken by photographer Zhi Yuen Zap, who managed to catch the island in the perfect light and create a stunning image. Check out some of his other amazing photos at https://www.flickr.com/photos/bluepolaris/ .

Somewhere in this photo is the Dino of White Island . Who I imagine is a little nervous having had an 4.9 earth quake hit nearby today!

Another image from our successful sunrise shoot at the beautiful Otago Peninsula back in October. Whilst Phil was taking the shot we used as a postcard ( http://www.pikitia.co.nz/postcards/viewCard/PAJ-sunrise-over-hoopers-inlet-otago-peninsula-dunedin?category=23 ), I was busy trying to get a shot using the shadow of the cabbage tree as a lead in line, of which this was one of the results

The wild West Coast of New Zealand provides some amazing scenery, and Motukiekie Beach is a prime example. As a bonus, at low tide brightly coloured orange starfish can be seen clinging to the rocks. This makes for great photography as this design shows. The photo was taken by photographer Christian Lim and is one of my new personal favourites in our range. Check out his other amazing work at https://500px.com/christianlim .

40 minutes on the road to Auckland from Tauranga takes you through the stunning, Karangahake Gorge. On the edge of The Coromandel it's a great spot with lots of beautiful short walks through the gorge some of which pass through old tunnels from when the area was mined for gold. This was our first attempt at getting a postcard shot of the gorge. Though we liked this image we felt as though it didn't sum up the gorge experience enough... so keep your eyes peeled for the image we eventually did choose when we release some new designs next month!

Maungakiekie or One Tree Hill in Auckland. This popular site in Auckland provided the name for the U2 Song, which was was written to pay tribute to Greg Carroll who was an New Zealand employee of the band. This song in turn was the inspiration for the name of the US teen drama, One Tree Hill.

And now this world famous site has a place in our range of postcards!

We have had some beautiful weather over the last few weeks in New Zealand. And I can't think of anywhere as good to be in this weather than the Bay of Island. This is our new design for region and is of the iconic Hole in the Rock. This beautiful image was taken by local photographer Ruth Lawton Photography . Check out her other work on her website at http://www.ruthlawtonphotography.com/

Oamaru houses some fantastic old buildings and one of the most popular is the Opera house. Originally opened on October 7, 1907, this building represents "the heart, soul and passion of Oamaru". It also looks pretty groovy at night when it lights up!

We have just released twenty two new designs just in time for Christmas, including a range for East Otago. This is our chosen design from St Clair Beach in Dunedin. After getting soaking wet in the stormy sea, we ended up choosing a calmer image from the shoot which was taken just after the sun had popped down. The ten stop helped tame those waves and create the final serene image.
