Heading back out to Bodie for Night Photography Workshops. We are considering adding Memorial Day weekend for a night / morning session. If you're interested let me know. May 3rd and August are just about full.
It's time to grab the camera and go in search of wildflowers and bugs. Not until next week though unfortunately. This past week I had to move my daughter and take care of ill parents. I'm seriously needing some outdoor time!
Sometimes you find the unexpected when out exploring. We hiked down to a cliff during low tide and found these lovely sea creatures hanging out with just about a foot of ocean on top to protect them. I look forward to smelling the ocean this week as I make the journey to the Bay Area to pick up my daughter and bring her back to Nevada to live for a while.
Thanks everyone! It was a needed break. +Eleanor Preger this was spur of the moment but we'll definitely give a shout out next time we head up. +Mammoth Ski Condo Rental I am with you, I am not ready for winter to end! My season pass has not been used at all this season :-(
When out exploring old mining towns this past weekend we came upon this building from the turn of the century where someone had hung a flag on an inside wall. Jeff had one window, I had the other. I went inside to light the flag while Jeff hit the shutters. It was beautiful out there...the calm before the storm.
After growing up in the LA area where I obtained my BS in Business Management at Pepperdine University and taught wilderness survival for UCLA and CSUN, I moved briefly to Texas then to Nor Cal where I raised a beautiful family. I recently relocated to the eastern sierra to be closer to my beloved mountains.
I am self employed which gives me freedom to travel when I want to. When I moved to the eastern sierra I had to reinvent myself and my career. It is working out beautifully and my business is taking off -- so much so that my freedom to hit the road it a little less these day. But that's okay.
I still take to the high country with backpack on when time and weather permits.

In my travels I've had the opportunity to consume some very interesting food items: Rotten Shark, puffin and ptarmigan in Iceland, Guinea Pig in Peru, rattlesnake, marmot and other creatures from the high sierra during my survival teaching days. My dad was a big hunter so we had lots of venison, elk, bear, boar as well.
