The worst sound I have ever heard at a venue. Their sound engineer has to be deaf to think that sound is acceptable. It is literally painful to listen to. If they would take the time to learn what sound deadening is and hire a real sound engineer it wouldn't be a half bad place.

Concrete floors = terrible reverberation. The people who run the venue should consider getting some random rugs and covering the floor because the bands are often inaudible... The concrete may not completely fix the solution but it's a start!

I have a mixed opinion of The Emerson. I used to attend there regularly until i discovered that i did not seem to like the crowd. I recently got a weird vibe. People were disrespectful towards me and I didn't feel like everyone was a family like they should feel at a music venue; However The Emerson is a fun place where you can enjoy music.

Always the worst experience to be had if you're a fan of music.

I have a lot of great memories from this place. I seen Insane Clown Posse here in 1999, it was amazing ! I haven't been in years...

This venue. Is the worst. My band(s) have preformed there on several occasions (3 I believe) simply for the sake of taking every show opportunity. We no longer perform there. Don't be fooled by the fact they say it is an all ages venue. I have been to this venue for Attack! Attack!, Beartooth, Chelsea Grin, the Browning, OTEP, Fit For a King, and a number of other local shows. I've seen plenty of alcohol inside the venue, witnessed drug deals every visit, they make you freaking pay to even walk outside, Ive seen performers literally get naked on stage, and don't even get me started on the lack of maintenance and lack of intervention on part of the staff. If there was a zero star rating, I would've selected it. Do yourself a favor and run. Run fast and far.

I really do not understand everyones criticism on the Emerson. Yeah its dirty. Yeah there's no parking, which I understand its a downfall. But what is this all about? Having a good time? Listening to bands you love preform? Thats what I'm about. Maybe I'm just weird. I've been to hole in the wall places with no more than 40 people there to big open parks where probably 5000 or so people gathered. And I'm willing to say that the Emerson is one of my favorite places to watch a show. Its about the atmosphere really. The crowd is always intense, theres never over 400 kids in the place at once, which causes a pretty intimate show if you wanted to reach up and touch a band member you probably could if you tryed. After the shows, alot of times, the band members will just chill by the merch tables and talk with kids, so you get to talk and take pics with your favorite band sometimes. Last time I went, I didn't really pay a ton of attention to the sound, but I didn't realize any problems. It sounded good. And even since then, I have heard of a ton of improvements that have been done to place soundwise. So all in all, it puts on a pretty good show and I recommend the place to about anyone.
