During the korean war, I was a member of the Stratigic Air Command's Ground observer Corps sitting up Spotting Towers and tracing aircraft all the way across the U. S. Then I was graduathed into the filter Center and a spot tracer. There we stood behind a huge Glass see through Map and traced every aircraft from take off to the end of their flight. I worked in every position in the filter Centers as well as the first set up of the Nor/Rad and Radar controed flights. My first true Air Base was george, Air Force Base and was setting up their Radar tracing program as well as their Off Coast Control. George Airforce was a beautiful Place, But california was against it from the very start. It was just out of the L. A. basin near Victorville, California. I then transfered into what I thought was the Path Finder's and ended in the U. S. Army and then the U. S. Army 101 St. Airborne in 1955-56-57.

I don't know if they are still there anymore but north of Wathena kansas there was an old farm where my wifes Great Uncle lived and he had a lot of old cars all over his back pasture because it was not a place you could raise much crops. I wish I could go back and see if my two old fords were still there. There was a really nice 62 fairlane 500 and  a 1962 Ford Victoria. They were both my cars and I left them there in 1970 after a Divorce. They both ran but used Oil. They were really nice looking cars. I could buy a car cheaper than fix them up and Junk was only $25.00 and you deliver.

I have been a gun owner all of my life since I was ten years old, I am 75 now and this is the stupidest site I have ever witnessed. I am a sharp Shooter as well as a Marksman in the U. S. Arrny, and if this is what N. R. A. is supporting, I sure as hell am against it. Absolute stupidity!

I was just on the Northern California Redding, California News channel 7, on Christmas Even with my 1901 Oldsmobile representing my Santa Claus Program. I am an Independent Santa claus that supports people and organizations all over the world. My 1901 Oldsmobile reproduction in which I would far rather own than the real thing is a machine that travels hundreds of miles on the Highways and Bi ways for www.GoldStarWall.org, as well as www.KIAHonorFlag.org, and many other such programs. When I found this old car, I promised the man who owned the Land if I could have it, It would be restored to work in the name of Unity and a better life in the United States of America and our world. I would be honored if any of your friends would like to be a part on my goals . Bringing back Quality over all the fancy thinks that no longer represent our History.  My program works where ever you live, and there is no membership Fee's or wages paid.

My Father In-Law did this type work in WW-2 and reclaimed many Navy Planes crashed and shot up in Peral harbor and Subic Bay , Philipines. He retired from Alameda Naval Air Station, After many years, I was fortunate to be able to get the U. S. Navy Blue Angles Admiral from Pennsicola, Florida to pay homage to him on October 10, 2001 in his honor and his youngest daughter's wedding. It was a Great Honor to be able to receive a Plaque with all the Blue Angles Planes and signatures signed, after they flew over the wedding a the precise time the Judge started the cerimony. They flew in from all directions and did the Star Burst straight up over the wedding and then all came back in all five directions for a pass over the wedding. I was extremely Honored that I was able to accomplish such a feet. I do have copies of the Plaque on my web site.

Man, you are so much like myself it is unbelievable. I am a woodsman, Love my 1901 Oldsmobile Touring Car, and love the Hillbilly and Woodsman life style. I even own my own Museum of my junk. I found my 1901 Oldsmobile abandoned back in about 1952 in the Forest next to a big old Monterey Pine Tree. It had a good half foot of Pine needles and nuts all over and in it. It had Rats as well as squirrels nest and even Hornet's nest in it. Lucky they were all old and no threat. I have lots of photos and I do take long cross country tours and trips with mine. When I found it, it has a Kohler  one cylinder 12 H. P. Engine and who ever parked it must have ran out of gas because even after all those years, With very little work we had the motor running and I drove it over 500 miles on that motor before blowing the rod. The rod just disintigrated. I think I can throw another new one in and clean it up and it will run again.
I now have a B & S. 16 V-Twin Vanguard with the largd Duster 750 Clutch system designed for my car. I can cruse on the Highway at 30-37 M. P. H. It had the Old R. E. O. steel Spoke wheels on it with rear wheel brakes. I have changed the sprockets and Chain size and have a lot more Tourque  and speed. I can clime many hills in high gear at 15 M. P. H. I have added a Surry style Top because like I said, I do drive t long distances Rain or shine. It has 400 X 18 " wheels and I bought the Original style of old tread tires, But learned real fast that on the power drive wheel I had to go to a 4 ply Honda Dirt Bike tire. I sabved a lot of money doing that through the oregon Motocycle Tire Store in Medford Oregon. They were half of what Cooker Tires charged me. With a lot better tire. With Cooker I had to have them send me several Intertubes because they were all full of small pin holes. I would never reccomend Coker to anyone. they are way over priced with extremely soft and cheap merchandise. I was extremely surprised because I have bought my Studebaker Stock tires through them. Very Expensive but the same style as what was mounted in 1950 and 1951.
I learned there are many companies that sell tires and beat Cooker all to heck. Just like many parts , there is a company in Ohio that can get me anything I need far cheaper than meny of those who are supposed to be the only representatives. I am 75 years young and been building old cars most all of those years. I owned a trucking company and had my own shops and mechanics for several years. You can see my web site as the featured Club on Oldride.com, I am the Mt. Shasta Orphan Club founder. I also have a touring 1901 Oldsmobile web site.

I attended the Stand down yesterday and I have to say any Veteran who never attended missed out on many Great Benefits. I went to support the www.GoldStarWall.org, and was declared a Supporter. That way I could help other Veteran's needing special needs. They had a Complete building set apart from all other Programs and you could go through and learn about many Benefits Not even I knew about.
They also offered good meals, Not C or K rations. They had plenty to where you could go back for seconds and I seen several go back three and one man went through the Chow line four times. I have to say, the food was cooked with good seasoning.  Then they had a tremendous Cloths and supplies Give away. New boots, and all kinds of great new winter Underwear and other goods for both men and women.
Also, there were three different big name politician's there and they were not doing Political Campaigning. That was unbelievable. They were there giving support and help support. This is what I expect of a politician.

I enjoy driving my 1901 Oldsmobile reproduction all over Northern California. I have it licenses as a legal Street vehicle over a Historical or Classic so there are no restrictions as to where I can go. I represent the www.AmericanFallenWarriorMemorialFoundation.org with mine and people all over the Western United States has shown great respect towards the little red Car except those who should be stepping out in groves to help my program. That is the Historic Vintage Horseless carriage Club of America. I joined their Club thinking they would be ecstatic and supportive and all I have received by most is Insult and Ridicule. I have even tried to attend some of their events and have been refused entrance. Even being a Member.
My little car travels on the highway most of the time under it's own power. I have driven it in every state on Interstate 80 between California and Nebraska. California is the only state that has refused me the right to drive in the Slow lane of the Freeway system, But then I enjoy traveling all of the State and County Highways. I returned from Missouri VIA Federal State highways 36 West out of St. Joseph, Mo. with people all along the way showing nothing but respect. I drove Kansas Highways and people was the most respectful. Many offered me Free gas and even food and a place to freshen up.  In Colorado on Highway 44, the Trucker's and car's were so respectful they enjoyed following me at 15 M. P. H. up some of the steeper Mountain highways. Salt Lake city from east to West as well as West to East never gave me one ounce of problems. They were the most respectful. I even received Sheriff and Police escorts several times without any problems and not even having to ask for them.  I also had Police stop me so they could get a photo of their Police Car behind me and them standing between the cars with me.
It has been a Great experience and I plan to make several other trips.

+Raymond F. Pittam Raymond, what a wonderful experience you have had with your 01 Olds.  I am so happy to know that people of all walks and many locations had respect to you and to the Olds.  Free gas, food, place to freshen up tell me that there are still good people out there.  Now as for this snooty Vintage Horseless Carriage Club of America, why they can just go to hell.  What's with these people?  They must all be pals and can't stand an outsider wanting to join there uppity stupid little club.  Man, that burns me just reading about it.  Every car person I've met have been friendly and helpful and respectful, just like the people you've met in your travels.  I'm so glad you have enjoyed this video and for telling your travel stories.  I wish you a happy and safe time with your Oldsmobile.

Retired Owner of my own designed business's. I learned it is better to be self employed than depend on a company for a job. Everytime I tried working for a Company I learned they only wanted you long enough to find another sucker to replace you just when you thought you could depend on them.

I am a man of many, many interest, I learned as a child if you locked yourself into just one thing you didn't grow. Watching others who always depending on one job and killing themselves to serve one purpose never experiences real life. You will see I have many interest and am able to accomplish many things. It does not take a great education to be a success. I have traveled more tham most anyone I have ever met, and experienced many things even Professor's and big well known people have never experienced. I am a doer and a explorer. Life I see in thousands of other's would be so boring. If it needs to be done, get in and do it. Never say I can't and you will be surprised of what all you have accomplished in your old age..
Introduction

I am a married man, 74 years young, Father of one living daughter and three Grandchildren. My son In-law is a youth Pastor and daughter is a School teacher in Florida.
My hobbies are making wood toys, fishing,  and going to my Horse Ranch and just enjoying the outdoors and Nature making new friends through classic cars.

I'm one of the founders of MT. Shasta Orphan Classic Car Group.  I am also starting a Northern California back Roads Tour program for Old and Classic Cars.

I feel it is important to be a positive part in building community programs. People working and playing together makes better surroundings for everyone.

I have just learned in this time of hard economy ways a person can make extra money. You can buy old mobile travel trailers and refurbish them and sell them at reasonable prices making a profit as well as helping others out. You can also buy old Classic cars, trucks, and travel trailers and clean them up and resale them at a profit. Do not ever give more than .10 percent above Junk Price. You can then advertise them on many free Web sites or ones that are low cost. Oldride.com is such a site, and while in there check out the Club sites. You can learn a lot from them. mtshastaophanclassicsgroup.shutterfly.com is another one where you can even design your own family site with beautiful albums.
