A stroll down Main Street with my Sony a5100 and Sigma 19mm.
Ok it's no secret that I have a deep love for Main Street. Its probably my favorite place in Memphis. It's the calm in the middle of fast paced downtown. A place to truly unwind while taking a stroll. All photos taken with my Sony a5100 with Sigma 19mm in f8. Main St I had some time before Maddy got out of camp, so I decided to just take a little walk to relax. While it was a nice walk, it was also also very warm and humid! ...

My top 5 places to eat in Memphis.
I'm constantly asked what my favorite restaurant in Memphis and it's actually a very hard question to answer because I love them all for different reasons. Well I know that's a not the greatest answer of all time so I decided to sit down and really think about my top 5 places to have dinner in Memphis. (These are in no particular order) 1. Rizzo's Rizzo's on South Main is definitely one of my favorite dinner spots in the ci...

I want to upgrade my a5100, I went to test out the a6000 and a6300. The touchscreen focus has spoiled me and I.cant see myself having to switch it with each shot manually via menu settings. Seems I would miss certain shots.

I prefer mirrorless, but I also looked at the Nikon D5500 and Canon 70D, which both feature touchscreen focus albeit not fast as the a5100 but way faster than that of the a6000/6300.

Thoughts?

Check out the review of HM Dessert Lounge!!!
Maddy and Chef Fran I recently went to check out the only dessert bar in Memphis, HM Dessert Lounge. I took my daughter Maddy along because kids know dessert and I can trust Maddy to be completely honest with absolutely no filter. I was previously introduced to HM Dessert Lounge during Memphis Black Restaurant Week and I was very impressed by the decor and the entrees. You can check out that review that I did with Justin Harrison o...

The service here is horrid!!! I went in and there was a young kid sitting at the first table playing on his phone. He works here, he had an Onix shirt on. He said nothing just started at me and my friend. Get to the register and the lady, her name is Pudding, acted as if we were a bother to come and patronize her business. She didn't greet us at all. She just looked at us. I mentioned I wanted the 6 piece tender lunch special. My friend asked for the 6 wing lunch special but all flats. She rings us up and the guy walks to the back to cook it. As we are sitting waiting, 2 of Pudding's friends come in. They also have Onix shirts in. They greet us and are very friendly. Pudding is the shining employee at this point and very personable. We get our food and I ask for ranch dressing. She says its in the box. I open it and there is none. I ask for some and told it's an extra charge. Wth?? My friend also did not get all flats. Won't be going back. I hate bad attitudes.

This is by far the best authentic Mexican I have had in Memphis. The homemade fresh chips are to die for and the guacamole is superb and I don't like guacamole. I love the chorizo and crane asade tacos.

Guy at the counter seemed as if I was bothering him. Didn't speak until it was time for me to pay. Other than that, they made my keys fast.
