Google is ending by August.

How will I find you?

I have a FB account. And a Twitter account I almost never use.
I have a Diaspora account that I haven't used in a while; time to dust that thing off...

How can we stay connected??

Dammit that hurt
Last week, while clearing our driveway, I got a blister on my left thumb, right around the middle joint. Oddly, around the blister, there was a numb spot. I didn't think too much about that, except that it stayed numb for most of the week.

It has mostly healed at this point, down to just a fading scar.

But today, I was using a set of pliers to do something and the handle of the pliers was against the spot where the blister had been. I pressed down on the pliers and searing pain shot up my hand, radiating out from the spot where the blister was. It was exactly like the feeling when you hit your "funny bone", except it was radiating out from my thumb instead of my elbow. OMG it hurt.

I just lay there on the floor panting as my thumb screamed at me for a good 30-45 seconds. Finally, the pain faded to a dull ache. I came upstairs and got a bag of ice. That was about 30 minutes ago. The ice has melted and the pain has faded to a just a hint of "you don't want to go there again, do you, Charles? Do you?" to keep me focused on how I use my dominant hand.

I've literally never had something like this happen before. I guess that blister, or the rubbing my glove did to form the blister, aggravated the nerve in my thumb. And it is still pissed at me, a full 8 days later.

Damn.

It is raining here. It had been raining nonstop since sometime late last night or early this morning. The rain is slowly dissolving the snow left over from last weekend. But the temperature is beginning to drop. It's about 35 now. When it finally dips below freezing, all of this rain water will become a nice, solid, layer of ice. It may snow up to a foot. Or rain and ice. Or both in layers of frozen hell. No clue. Weather reports have changed a dozen times in the last 48 hours.

Snow is beautiful but a pain to deal with.
Ice is deadly stuff. It has no redeeming qualities in local weather.

Can't wait to see what the morning brings!

An honestly misinformed person upon hearing the truth will either quit being misinformed or will quit being honest.
