Congratulations to our two most recent DAISY Award winners, Joanna Cambria, RN, SICU, and Michelle Arias, RN, Northwest 7. The family of a patient nominated Joanna, who wrote: “Joanna took care of our mother various times from late October to mid-November. She consistently showed compassion, patience and concern four our mom and for us. She always answered questions, explained procedures and even updated family members when they called from the West Coast. Joanna was on duty the night our mother passed and did everything she could to make our mom comfortable. She constantly checked on mom, especially when we spent the night with her when she was passing. Bridgeport Hospital is very fortunate to have Joanna on staff. We highly recommend her for this award.”
A patient who nominated Michelle wrote: “My admission to Northwest 7 after several hours in the ED was made comfortable, safe and secure by my nurse Michelle. She was empathetic and caring about all my needs and gave a thorough examination. She answered all my questions, which alleviated all my anxiety. I no longer felt I was in a free fall. She helped me regain my dignity.” To thank a caregiver for his or her extraordinary care, visit: http://ynh.care/LDXr30a0HTi
