If the internet was Streatham Common, Facebook would be the kids playground. Free to enter, a handy meeting spot, but boring after a while. If Mark Zuckerberg owned the playground, he'd tells us that he was making the playground more fun by moving the equipment about every so often. He'd make loads of cash selling crap adverts that no one looks at and only the people in the playground can see. Google would be a fantastic teleportation machine that takes you where it thinks you want to go on the common based on the questions you ask. If Sergey Brin and Larry Page owned this machine, they'd sell adverts based on your current location and the question you ask that appear on the walls of the machine that, again, no one would ever notice. Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, would own the ice cream van, every knows how to find the ice cream van and everyone likes ice cream. People don't hang about at the ice cream van ignoring adverts, on the contrary, they turn up and buy something they like the look off. No one knows who Jeff Bezos is because he's clever enough to know that no one cares. All they care about is ice cream. Meanwhile, Wikipedia is over in the Waterfront running and winning the pub quiz. And yep, I think we all know who owns the toilet...
