Simon Rickett explains below that being in control of your sales process is a mindset dilemma….
“Chasing sales is what every business needs to do. This at times can result in you forgetting that the most important person in the sales process isn’t the business, it is actually the customer. This means you always need to look at everything you do in your process for their view point. No potential customer wants to be bothered constantly with sales calls and regular emails trying to get them to buy something, they want to be in full control of their decision  process. The problem with this is if a business feels they have lost control and they are not calling them constantly then how will they know whether this person will buy?”
Simon Rickett was faced with this issue recently with the business he has been assisting, he goes onto say…
“By implementing marketing tracking software it is possible to analyse exactly where each person is in the buying process. If you are sending out regular mail shots and you can track which mails are opened, which ones are not and more importantly which prospect opened them then this provides a perfect insight in identifying that this prospect is still engaged with your business. Prospects that are engaged with your business don’t need calling every 5 minutes and chasing, you can just sit back and watch them click through your emails and website and at a time they are ready they will make the step every business wants which is to buy…”
Simon Rickett explains that the business he is currently working with have owners who have run their own business for over 20 years and their approaches to attracting customers has always been the old method of employing a room of sales people, giving them a list to call and keep calling these prospects until they buy. Rickett believes those days are behind us, prospects these days have so much choice due to the internet and therefore they won’t just pick up the phone because you are calling, they will spend time browsing the web trying to finding a better deal. As customers take longer to buy and the buying process requires you to court your prospects then these factors can’t be forgotten when you are trying to increase your profitability.
Rickett explains that implementing marketing tracking software doesn’t just potentially increase your profits it also allows you to cut costs as the need for that old fashioned sales room is no longer needed.
