Noah Rosen, MD is spearheading a campaign with the American Migraine Foundation (http://americanmigrainefoundation.org) to help raise awareness for pediatric migraine, and, in particular, the impact of pediatric migraine on school performance. This is one of my major passions, so I'm so glad to see he is doing this!!

I recall discussing this sort of thing for years in the piano studios I played in - what would you rather have: amazing technique and virtuosity or high quality musicality and emotive playing? It seems, nowadays, that many have both. :)

My cover version of "Good Enough" (Amy Lee, Evanescence) - forgive my terrible recording quality, but it'll have to do for now!

Does anyone use ghostwriting for any online posts in the professional vein? I just saw a blog where it says posts may be ghostwritten. I kind of think that means, "Don't have a blog, then." Or at the very least, don't call it your own when it is not. Just seems rather unethical, even if it has nothing to do with research studies, pharma or other more traditional "ghostwriting ethics" areas. What does everyone else think?

Don't think I've shared this yet - apologies if I already did. In a piano mood this morning - this is a 1 minute segment from my junior recital as a piano performance major. It's from Beethoven Sonate Op 90 in e minor, Mvt I.

Are they?? What are/were their fields of study?? I'm so very glad that I got my piano performance degree. Things did not work out at all how I planned - but yet worked out better than I could have hoped, in the long run! I set off to major in music education, but didn't like the program and loved the piano. Changed my degree to piano performance and was taking required courses to go to medical school. Had everything finished except organic chemistry but had health issues that made me think perhaps med school would be a bad idea, so I went into a 2nd degree nursing program 9 days after finishing the piano performance degree. Couldn't have planned that if I'd tried, and yet I'm so glad that it went the way it did. :) Thanks for the comment!

Master of Science in Narrative Medicine - This is where the hope lies for the future in medical storytelling. I'm inspired by the mere existence of this degree program. Let the naysayers against narrative read about this - I'd challenge you to learn more about the importance of narrative and why I believe we harm patients by shutting it down.

Excuse my ignorance, but is there talk of shutting down the Master of Science in Narrative Medicine degree program at Columbia? At least that's what the post by +Carrie Preston implies.
